prompt: make a rust web server program and run it here in tmux on port 7075, making it listen on 0.0.0.0 and ::0 or whatever is needed with smolvm to view it on the host
Nice little design by the AI.
Holy shit
Bun AOT also introduces `--trim` which deletes unused parts of Bun from the compiled binary
On macOS, a binary that uses Bun.serve’s HTTP server goes from 89 MB to 25 MB

ALT bun build --compile --aot --trim, with --trim highlighted. A block representing an 89 MB executable from Bun 1.4.4 on macOS arm64 is being cut up with scissors. The part that stays is pink: 25 MB for hello world, 34 MB with Bun.serve, 44 MB with node:http. The rest is cut into paper scraps, each crossed out: bun install, bun test, bun check, bun build, bun lint, bun fmt, WebAssembly, debugger, JIT compilers.
If you don't use Claude Desktop or ChatGPT for desktop, preferring instead isolated VMs and the command line, you're a real one.
codex CLI starts with something that reminds me of a peace symbol when it starts, but it isn't a peace symbol and doesn't mean peace...
Today I switch everything from lima to smol-vm. @smolmachines
lima was meant to only be a developer tool, while smol-vm is general purpose. I prefer general-purpose.
Back to my old username for now. I was paying both for it (by claiming an inactive username) and Grok but I didn't like Grok so I felt I was no longer getting my money's worth.

Merging Bun AOT next week, then testing on Claude Code
Expecting 2-3x less memory + CPU & a slightly smaller binary
This is the future of server-side JavaScript
Instead of you rewriting in Rust, we rewrote JavaScript's compiler to emit native code ahead of time

Poor security has been cheaper than good security because exploiting it was relatively expensive & time consuming.
But AI has made it cheaper & faster for exploits.
I think this has been a known market inefficiency.
And companies who work to improve security is here to fill that hole by genuinely needing to innovate and improve in the security space

highly recommend running these workloads on a vm locally.
Sandboxing locally is going to become more and more important, do it with smol machines: github.com/smol-machines/smo…
