Proud present our latest work led by @_blessypaul, now in Developmental Cell @Dev_Cell.
Here, we characterize an ER-localized antioxidant enzyme in humans and Drosophila that acts as a lipid quality control factor to suppress ER lipid oxidation.

Excited about our preprint led by the amazing @_blessypaul w/ collabs from Jeff McDonald (UTSW) and Steve Farber (Johns Hopkins)!
Here we characterize the paraoxonase-like enzyme APMAP, showing it helps maintain lipid & lipoprotein homeostasis @ the ER.

I’m happy to see that our preprint of my postdoc work in the @HenneLab is online! Thank you Mike for the shoutout!
Excited to present this preprint from the amazing @HollyMerta in collab w/ @gdanuser1.
Here we do TurboID-based 'spatial proteomics' of ER network subdomains.
We also identify an ER-actin tether, CLMN, that regulates focal adhesions & cell motility.

Lipid droplets exhibit many functions including energy storage organelles & metabolic buffers. Did you know they also likely serve as optical light filters in chicken cone cells?
Learn about this & more in this interesting paper now out in @Dev_Cell.

Tld1 is a regulator of triglyceride lipolysis that demarcates a lipid droplet subpopulation, say Natalie Ortiz Speer @naaatalieortiz, Mike Henne @HenneLab and colleagues @UTSWNews: bit.ly/3QuXeDn

Did you know you can monitor the biophysical phases of #lipid_droplets (LDs) using polarized light microscopy?

Meme your science:
Triglyceride (TAG) rich lipid droplets are substrates for hungry TAG lipases. Are there ways cells protect some LDs from lipolysis?
See our preprint to learn about Bsc2, which decorates a subset of TAG-rich LDs and inhibits breakdown.

New preprint! Led by @naaatalieortiz, here we characterize yeast protein Bsc2, showing it localizes to a sub-population of lipid droplets (LDs).
Our data support a model where Bsc2 acts as a 'triglyceride sensor' on a LD subset to regulate lipolysis.

Congrats to @brettcollins100 & @_blessypaul! Paper suggests novel lipid binding module in SNX-RGS proteins via PXA-PXC domain interactions at interorganelle contacts.
Great example of Alphafold solving riddles we've struggled to experimentally resolve.

Neat preprint from @brettcollins100, @_blessypaul, @hanahariri & others using crystallography & Alphafold to dissect architecture of SNX-RGS proteins.
Surprisingly, two domains appear to fold together forming a new lipid binding/transfer module.
