Introducing Praxis-1, an open-weight World Action Model that turns our video pre-training expertise into real world control for robots.
Robot demonstration data is limited. But video data is infinite. Praxis-1 extends our bet that the best policy models will learn from video, and use that scale to bring embodied intelligence to every industry.
Praxis-1 is built on our large-scale video pre-training and real-time infrastructure, and acts as a policy model for robotics developers and researchers that works across any embodiment or environment, no matter how complex.
We are actively testing with early partners including Noble Machines, Standard Bots and Ultra, and will be releasing the weights publicly in the coming months.

We are using Runway Ads internally, we were able to 10X our ads with even cheaper cost per conversion(40% cheaper) and scale up the spend vs return efficiently:
Introducing Runway Ads, an autonomous engine for performance marketing.
Since July, we’ve used Runway Ads to:
-Scale ad volume 1,000% while doubling our return on ad spend
-Increase conversion by 34% with click-through rate holding steady
-Bring our cost per subscriber down 41%
-And add $100M ARR
Now, we’re making it available to select enterprise partners and will be rolling it out widely in the coming weeks.

Interfaces that are generated, not coded.
Solaris is our first step toward our vision of end-to-end neural software, where user interfaces are streamed directly onto your screen by a real-time video model, without any intermediate code or HTML/CSS. Today we're releasing a technical report and opening it up for limited testing by the community.
Amazing work by the team, combining the best of our research in general world models with Runway's HCI spirit.
Today, we're sharing new research on Solaris, our first Interface World Model.
Solaris is a new kind of operating system that generates interactive interfaces frame by frame, in real time, with no code. We find that Solaris outperforms frontier LLMs when generating new interfaces, across structural similarity and information retention. Read more and request early access at the link below.

It's never going to work
It's just a research demo
It's too hard
It's decades away
It works too poorly
It makes hands with six fingers
It can't do physics
Movements don't feel real
It all looks the same
It feels oversaturated
It's too hard to use
It's slop
It's too easy to use
It has no soul
It can't keep consistent characters
It can't do real audio
It's only good for memes
It can't do good voices
It can't do dialogue
It's never going to be used for real stories
It's just a few seconds
It can't hold a shot longer than a clip
It's just for experiments
It can't do good stories
It can't lip sync
It can't be directed
It's not 16-bit EXR
It's not 10- and 12-bit ProRes and HEVC
It's fine for previz, but never final pixels
It's never going to be used by real artists
No studio will ever touch it
It will never win awards
It has no emotion
It can't make you feel anything
Audiences will always be able to tell
People will never like it
It will never be able to entertain
It will ...

Introducing Whisper Thunder aka Gen-4.5.
Today, we are excited to share our new frontier model. Gen-4.5 was built by a team that fits onto two school buses and decided to take on the largest companies in the world.
We are David and we’ve brought one hell of a slingshot.

Gen-4 sets a new standard for video generation and is a marked improvement over Gen-3 Alpha. It excels in its ability to generate highly dynamic videos with realistic motion as well as subject, object and style consistency with superior prompt adherence and best-in-class world understanding.

There are so many possibilities to explore in how we'll interact with next-gen creative tools.
Grateful to be doing so at @runwayml. It's hard to imagine a more inspiring and supportive environment for this type of work.
Here's a recent exploration:

Introducing Frames: An image generation model offering unprecedented stylistic control.
Frames is our newest foundation model for image generation, marking a big step forward in stylistic control and visual fidelity. With Frames, you can begin to architect worlds that represent very specific points of view and aesthetic characteristics.
See below for examples.
