ALT 90 years ago on March 26, 1933, the New York Rens won their 88th consecutive game, the most in professional basketball history. It's a record that still stands today. They did it with a 35-26 win over the Union City Reds of New Jersey, playing in the ballroom of what was then known as the Elks Building, at 110 Livingston Street in downtown Brooklyn. The Elks sold the property to the City of New York in 1936 for about $1 million, and after renovations, the New York Department of Education made it their headquarters in 1940. In 2003, the city sold the building to condo developers for $45 million. The late Beaux-Arts style building is still there, with the same neo-Renaissance facade. It deserves a plaque commemorating the historic achievements of the New York Rens and other Brooklyn teams that used to play there, which included the New York Original Celtics and the Brooklyn Visitation Triangles. 🔥🙌🏽⭐️ #RENS100 #MakeHistoryNow
