This morning, a young woman cried after spending time looking at the She Matters mural. A woman from the bush told me about her friend Mavis, who is on the mural, and revealed her own escape from violence. It's a powerful work. I hope you get the chance to see it. I've added three victims since putting the She Matters mural up on March 8. We have now lost 119 women since January 1, 2024. I'm extremely grateful to Melbourne's street artists for allowing the mural to remain in place - and I hope it stays there for a little while longer. As long as the mural remains, I will add women as killed. There is space - because I know it is inevitable. You will find the mural in Hosier Lane, Melbourne. Across from the gallery entry of Federation Square. My work documenting killed women and children, telling their stories, supporting bereaved families navigate the media, organising vigils and rallies and providing aid to people in violence distress is not funded by government or by the sector. My work is grassroots and it relies on the generosity of our communities. Please do consider buying a t-shirt, hoodie or tote, or perhaps donating. **** ❤️ Please support my work❤️ I need your support to keep documenting murdered women and children.
