My ancestors worked as indentured labourers under the British Empire in Mauritius in the 1800s.
Yes it was brutal and harsh.
And it gave my ancestors the chance to earn a wage, acquire property, receive an education and benefit from healthcare- all possible thanks to the British Empire.
We cannot keep teaching our young people a one-sided view of history.

Forced mobilization in Ukraine crossed every limit a long time ago. Now it reaches into private homes. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region a group of military recruitment officers and police entered a private house and took a builder who was working there. The owner of the house demanded that they leave his property, but they ignored him completely. There was no warrant, no documents, nothing that would make the entry legal. They simply carried the man out.
The law and private property no longer protect ordinary Ukrainians. For Zelenskyy’s government they are not citizens. They are only meat for the front.

Reparations for slavery? Where is that urgency for the girls raped by Pakistani Muslim gangs in Britain, or the women still being trafficked and exploited today? Where is their compensation, and accountability for the officials who failed them?
The dead make convenient villains. Confronting living perpetrators, and the institutions that failed their victims, requires rather more courage than another speech about Britain’s past. Oh and btw, if we’re going to put history on trial, we might acknowledge Britain’s role in suppressing the slave trade. Selective memory is a curious foundation for moral superiority.

"The Security Service of Ukraine has identified nearly a hundred people who actively participated in the events in the village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Buchansky district, Kyiv region. The issue of detaining certain individuals, in addition to the already detained woman, is being resolved. The purpose of the riots was to free one of the men, who had left the unit without permission, but was later detained.
"About 100 people who actively participated have been identified and located... The issue of detention is being resolved," said Ivan Rudnytsky, Deputy Head of the SBU, at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday."

It is reported that I am suspected of high treason. The materials on which this suspicion is based are my public statements in Western media and on social media—specifically those concerning revelations of corruption of Zelenskyy's inner circle, the absence of freedom of speech, and political persecution. In effect, with this suspicion, Zelenskyy has proven that I was right.

Under martial law, treason charges mean from 15 years in prison to life sentence. This is the price of freedom of speech and desire to save Ukraine under Zelenskyy.

The woman who exposed a secret Azov detention facility in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv yesterday — where mobilized men and deserters were reportedly beaten and held against their will — has now been arrested.
And right on cue, the entire pro-government media machine and its army of bloggers have sprung into action.
Their target?
The woman who exposed it.
They're working overtime to paint her as a paid Kremlin agent and a provocateur.
Meanwhile, the questions that actually matter have conveniently vanished from the headlines.
Why were the men held inside that civilian building covered in bruises?
Why were they denied medical care?
Why did groups of violent thugs, mobilized by Azov, descend on protesters to the sound of the OUN march, attacking people indiscriminately — including journalists?
And why hasn't a single one of those attackers been arrested yet?
Instead, all the attention is now focused on the woman who brought to light a secret detention site where men's fundamental rights appear to have been violated.
How incredibly convenient.
This is the "beacon of freedom and democracy" that Brussels is backing and financing.

Conscription in Ukraine have turned into torture.
The video shows a 14-year-old boy being led out of one of these enlistment offices / torture sites. He had no reason to be there at all.
The complete impunity of this utterly unacceptable, chaotic forced mobilization—through which billions of dollars in bribes are collected and which is protected by all of Zelenskyy’s security structures—can led to these terrifying consequences.
People are taking to the streets against the police and the enlistment officers, opposing Zelenskyy’s monstrous policies that treat human life as nothing more than another opportunity to make money.
If the EU continues to stand behind this Zelenskyy, who is killing his own people, then Ukrainians will defend themselves.
