Reposting the 10+ year permitting process for an interregional transmission line below.
It's about a lot more than just the environmental review.
The grid solutions we need will require rethinking over a century of transmission policy.

SANTA FE INSTITUTE POSTDOC CALL
Oct 13
Emergence, new theories of computation, physics of information, scaling + micro-macro, collective intelligence, AI+AGI, robustness, evolvability, causality, consciousness. . . there is no better place to do a postdoc then @sfiscience.
I did my postdoc at SFI years ago. To have had it as an option was life changing from an intellectual standpoint.
If you like to collaborate, have a complex systems research vision + want a postdoc that is basically a junior faculty position, please apply.

I just don't understand this narrative. The difference in homeownership between the generations is VERY small, and can probably be completely explained by Millennials staying in school a little longer.

A lack of patience changes the outcome.
The best things compound small gains over time. The longer the time horizon, the larger the success.

Factuality in long-form generation is hard to evaluate because (1) we don't know how to assign an accuracy value when a generation has mixed pieces of true/false info, and (2) human evaluation is extremely costly.
But from now on, you can use FActScore!

We launched this quietly, but we now sell returned and refurbished memory and storage (securely erased) for ~50% off with 11th Gen and 12th Gen configurations. We're reducing waste at the same time as reducing the cost of entry to the Framework Laptop ecosystem.

A single year above 1.5C does not mean the world has passed that particular warming level.
Due to year to year variability driven by El Niño and La Niña events, we’d expect to see single years above 1.5C up to a decade before long-term human-driven warming passes that level.
World likely to breach 1.5C climate threshold by 2027, scientists warn
