According to The Spectator - I’m the person that bothers Piers Morgan the most.
Green membership doubled, record polling & Piers bothered - I’m delighted!
But we're just beginning. Join us to keep the movement growing and keep bothering Piers!

This budget was a betrayal of our future; the Labour government chose protecting corporate profits over people and planet.
Labour’s budget is just tinkering.
We need bold action: slash income tax and VAT to put cash back in your pocket and spark growth. Pay for it by taxing wealth and capital gains.

Ending neoliberalism is saying “let’s end neoliberalism” while continuing to impose it.
Ending the genocide is saying “Palestine protesters were right” while continuing to arrest them and arm a genocide.
Anyone falling for this is either paid or a chump.

It's a busy news day, but this from Haringey is outrageous.
Today the Regulator of Social Housing published an inspection, and it turns out the previous Labour council seemingly misled them about thousands of fire-safety issues in local council housing.

Was that it?
It all felt very familiar.
A Labour Government totally unwilling to take on power and wealth and give our country the investment we so desperately need.

Andy Burnham is asked about Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields.
He says "Use of our resources can support and accelerate a clean energy future"
We are truly down the rabbit hole with this utter nonsense.
Invest in renewables, insulate homes & say no to fossil fuels.

"When the Chancellor talks about difficult choices, why are they always difficult choices for migrants, for disabled people, and for young people? It's time to tax the rich." - Zack Polanski speaks at the March Against Austerity ahead of the Budget.

Today’s budget looks like being worse for our future and the young than even anything Starmer came up with.
A budget based on approval of mass new oil drilling is a betrayal of our future.
EXCL: The giant Rosebank oilfield can be approved without breaching the UK’s emission targets, according to government insiders, in a boost to those in the cabinet who are pushing for it to be given the go-ahead.
Sources also say the Treasury has already accounted for billions of pounds’ worth of tax revenue from Rosebank and so would be faced with a shortfall should it be rejected.

Believe me that I don't exaggerate when I say this: I am thankful to be alive and hear these words said where Western audiences can hear them. This monologue is as revolutionary and meaningful as Rosa Park' refusal to move to the black people section of a bus, 71 years ago in Montgomery, Alabama.
Lubna Speitan seals her place in the chronicles of the struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom and dignity - now followed and supported by billions of people around the world.
I waited so long, so eagerly, to hear these transformative words; all of humanity did. EVery schoolboy and schoolgirl in the world need to know this
Watch this.
Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

I’d urge Greens not to be intimidated by people trading on their credentials as “economists”. Listen to the argument. If it sounds like neoliberalism dressed up in radical language, trust your gut. People often flaunt their degrees when their arguments can’t speak for themselves.

I've been revisiting @UKLabour's 2024 manifesto, and some of the commitments are extraordinary given where we are today...
- Defend the international rule of law.
- Uphold international law in Gaza.
- Recognise Palestinian statehood as an inalienable right.
- Reject new oil and gas exploration because it worsens the climate crisis.
These weren't demands from protesters.
THEY WERE LABOUR'S OWN PROMISES!
The government shouldn't need reminding what the principles are. It already wrote them down and commited to them!
The question is why those principles become negotiable the moment defending them carries a political cost.

We’ve seen this script before.
This Labour government won’t take action for the people who so desperately need change right now.

The government didn’t just approve Jackdaw, they also reiterated their support for so-called tiebacks - a dodge to allow yet more new drilling without new licenses.
This deserves almost as much scrutiny as Jackdaw and has got barely any of it, so I raised it in the Chamber.
