Looks more satisfying with nodes on.
No morphing libs used, just interpolating path data 🌀
Wanted to grab an optimised device frame for a case study but couldn't find one that was as lightweight or accurate as I wanted.
Then it became an experiment in creating smooth, performant omni-directional morphs. Lots of fun engineering details in here, will do a write up soon.
i initially though well what if I could just vectorise an official device frame? That would take 5 seconds... teapawt.net/_joerl/status/20340768…
Gave @QuiverAI a spin today on some iPhone device frames to compare against Figma's own vectorizer + hand tracing. Some interesting results 👇
Just wrapping up a @raycast extension that makes it even easier and more flexible to create recordings with Tinker, perfect for iterating and pixel peeping.
More beta invites going out later today! ✉️
Pica also has a great dmg canvas which hopefully becomes less rare now ai can do the heavy lifting! Maybe 5% of the apps I see have nice ones.
Pushed me to polish up the one for tinker.video
One of the things I'm most proud of for Pica (better font management for MacOS) is that the app is fully native, and as a result, extremely small and performant.
In a world of slop and bloat, I think it's still worth it to take the time to do it right.
