Legendary actor Sir Patrick Stewart, best known for his work in the "Star Trek" and "X-Men" franchises and his prolific award-winning stage career, has died at 86 years old, his spokesperson confirmed.
Stewart died at home on Wednesday, with his wife Sunny at his side, a post on his social media channels said. His death followed "a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia," the post said.

Israel allows 2 million Palestinians with Israeli citizenship (who did not become refugees in 1948) to vote and run for office while it denies that right to 6+ million it has kept under a brutal illegal occupation for nearly 60 years.
That is not democracy. It is Apartheid.
Israel’s Arab citizens, men and women, are turning out in historic numbers to vote. They can vote, run for office, and serve in the Knesset, rights denied to many Arabs and women across much of the Middle East.
Our critical ally in the fight against terror, Israel, is the only democracy in the region, and today shows it.

Maybe some of you knew about those but it's the first time I've come across them and it blew my mind.
So we're on a beach in the Philippines and we kept seeing these egg-like green balls in the seagrass. At first I thought they were plastic because they looked kind of like plastic toy capsules.
But there were so many of them all over the beach that either some kid had lost the biggest toy collection in history, or something else was going on.
So I checked and turns out they're called "Sailor's Eyeballs" (Valonia ventricosa) and each one is a single-celled organism, one of the largest on earth. Yup, that's one cell: the "plastic" shell is its cell wall, and everything inside is made of nuclei and cell sap.
I never knew cells could get that big, I always assumed - wrongly, it turns out - that all cells were microscopic. You learn everyday!

This is such a grotesque, bastardization of the Bible, @tparsi, it’s hard to even imagine. In no way, shaped, or form in either the Christian Bible or the Torah, does God give the people of Israel a blank check to do whatever they want on the land he promised them.
To the contrary, there were significant demands made upon them, namely, they had to obey the word of God, and be a light to the world. If they did not, God himself said he would curse them and the land, and he kicked them off the land in his wrath three times in history.
How can any genuinely Bible-believing person today believe that suddenly God is impotent, and the secular, largely atheistic civilian leadership in Jerusalem today, overrules the Almighty?

Canadian journalist asks Moshe Feiglin, a former Likud Member of Knesset, if he is concerned about Israel's plummeting global standing.
Feiglin's response is chilling, as it reveals the fundamental supremacist view he and many in Israel hold.
He says that the real moral supreme court is in Israel, ie with the people of Israel.
