Our second East of England @macmillancancer Information & Support Community of Practice 💚
An incredibly emotional afternoon with some inspirational ladies that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for over a decade 💚
Nothing more soul destroying than an HOUR on hold to @SkyHelpTeam to be cut off and rubbish signal means I missed my call back 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
Shoutout to the amazing ‘parents of children with additional needs’ at @macmillancancer who ‘get it’. I’ve had the toughest day in a while and tomorrow I’m co-delivering a Wellbeing session to our wider team whilst I feel a bit like this 🤯😢🥴😤 So grateful for our networks 💚
My smear detected pre-cancerous cells and potentially saved my life. If your smear test is due, PLEASE book 🙏🏻
Having regular cervical screenings (also known as a smear test) is an effective way of preventing cervical cancer. It’s important to have, even if you have had the HPV vaccination. The vaccination protects against the most common types of high-risk HPV that cause cervical cancers. But it does not protect against all types.
This #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek don’t forget to book your smear test so any abnormal changes can be spotted as early as possible.

“I rely on my scans. I shouldn't be ringing up my team begging for my appointments.”
Jules was diagnosed in November 2021 with stage 4 lung cancer, which has since spread to her spine and pelvis. As her cancer is incurable, she relies on her three-monthly CT scans to keep her informed about her prognosis.
She continues to live life to the fullest, but constantly feels she has to advocate for herself to get the care she needs, leaving her feeling angry and frustrated.
“I am living life heightened where I'm so sensitized to my appointments being cancelled, and so anxious that my phone is going to ring with another cancellation. It’s affecting everybody around me; my family, my friends, my son, they're all suffering. I have the disease in my body, but they are on the same journey with me. Governments across the UK needs to listen to us.”
I facilitated an Information & Support Community of Practice today, after a 3+ year gap! Forget how much I love facilitating face to face, after so much virtual interaction it’s great seeing people! Hearing from incredible @macmillancancer professionals is always a pleasure 👏🏻💚
Love these @cardfactoryplc @macmillancancer Fathers Day cards! 💚

It’s World IBD (Inflammatory Bowel disease) Day.
I have Crohn’s & I’m using today to raise awareness, to fund more research, to ultimately find a cure 🙏🏻
Today is also the 2nd birthday of my new stomach exit 🥳🎉
I’m forever grateful for the two surgeons that changed my life 💜
The petition to reform SEND Education has doubled in signatures since I signed this morning. 💪🏻 As a Mum who has battled for 18 months to get support, we NEED to see a change. We need Government to listen, more funding and more support ASAP. Please sign 🙏🏻 change.org/p/reform-the-send…
As a parent of a child with additional needs, celebrations can feel limited at times, but when they come, they’re extra special. Callie nailed learning to ride a bike within a few minutes 🤩👏🏻💪🏻 So proud 🥰
Shout out to @NWAngliaFT ENT department, they were brilliant with my daughter yesterday. She’s over the moon with her new teddy 💜
Bit behind on this news but Mr Harris changed my life, 2 years ago next Saturday to be precise. Total legend. So deserved. Can’t thank him enough 🥇🤩 #crohnsdisease
We are delighted that one of our consultant surgeons, Adrian Harris, was honoured at @ASiTofficial awards which recognise surgical training excellence. He was one of only a few surgeons to be shortlisted for a top award. For more: ow.ly/iiuK50NJfBB
