thought about initial mudwater distribution like a token allo
vast majority (71%) of the supply given for free to bayc and mayc + boxes for those who went to apefest
IRL has been a very important focus and mudwater allo can further enhance those moments
566 boxes set aside for community onboarding
empowers us to send some boxes or even a case to bayc IRL events
imo the destiny of these boxes is to to be ripped IRL, no hoarding, no stacking, all 566 boxes are traded for memories and great pulls
don't be surprised to see boxes at bayc events
btw it's not normal for collectible card projects to share their box numbers and distributions
but i thought it was important to publish so people can get a sense of the strategy
bc we wanna do things a lil differently
Only 253 of 9,996 Bored Apes are listed right now. That's 2.5% of the club.
Floor up 7.7% this week to 6.03 ETH. One collector just took 3 off the floor at about 6 ETH each, and new faces keep landing their first ape.
Apes never left. The club is loud again 🦍
@BoredApeYC
I love Punks and one benefit to holding them is that they don't have to do anything, people don't want them to do anything, but just be preserved.
"Doing stuff" in this arena is hard, under constant criticism, difficult to make everyone happy... but when done well, has incredible potential to change the world and it's perception of NFTs.. what they are capable of, whether that be membership, gaming, networked art, collectibles.
I am bullish on great art that doesn't need to "do anything". But I am also bullish on the ones fighting the fight to be more than that. I think this sector of NFTs needs to succeed as well for them to permeate broader society. And I think after 2021 we all have a better eye for what the technology is and what it isn't.. what expectations are realistic to put your money towards. And I think the average consumer is more esaily attracted to this subset of NFTs as well.
We survived the bubble, the proof of longevity will be even better. Bullish on BAYC.

Getting @BoredApeYC into @LACMA is a major win! Apes are not “Fine Art”, but they are a core part of onchain culture. Lacma is an encyclopedic collection, meaning they collect culture across the centuries - now Apes will sit next to ancient Gandhara statues forever. gg @mfigge 🔥
Remember @DigitalArtMove by @machibigbrother? It got $13M funding to get NFTs into major museums after it was approved by ApeCoin DAO in Sept 2023
Many thought it rugged but today, we got the news that they sent 8 apes to LACMA
Finally… after 3 years. At least it’s not a rug

Bored Ape Yacht Club is joining @LACMA as part of a landmark gift of 200+ works spanning the history of digital art.
Eight BAYC and MAYC NFTs were donated through @DigitalArtMove, an initiative originally approved and funded by the ApeCoin DAO.
Congrats to everyone involved.
have been spending a lot of time working as a part of @LACMA digital leadership group and very happy to share...
bayc, mayc, and more than 200 works represent the initial donation with works that explore the intersection of art and technology
spans six decades of the medium, from pioneering computer works of the 1960’s through the NFT era
assembled by artists, philanthropists, and technologists - supported by damDAO and Mneme Foundation, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to digital art, this initiative will further expand the museum’s role in shaping scholarship and discourse around digital culture, and aiming to become one of the most comprehensive collection of digital art in the world

A major moment for digital art at LACMA.
We're announcing a landmark gift of more than 200 works of digital art, spanning early computer-generated works to contemporary experiments with AI.
Led by LACMA Digital Leaders, the gift includes works by @RefikAnadol, @REAS, @luyangasia, and many more, bringing new perspectives on the intersection of art and technology into our collection. bit.ly/3VOeUPH

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY TO THE DOOMED BY @XCOPYART 🎂
On 21st October 2018 the first ever edition of The Doomed was minted on KnownOrigin for 0.075E ($15.36 on the day!).
The description included with The Doomed is just one sentence: “Tech won't save us.”
Minted as an edition of 100, it famously took 434 days to sell out, and has since become one of the most recognisable and storied works in digital art
Well known collector @CozomoMedici once called it "a piece of the bedrock of the cryptoart movement". It’s also one of its most valuable editions, with the most recent 3 sales averaging over 40E each
The Doomed is owned by many of the most prominent collectors in the space including @sqda @RaoulGMI @thedoomedxyz @Jediwolf @punk4940 @punk8164 @l1qu1d_ @TokenAngels @Punk8868 @CryptoTaxGuyETH @VonMises14 @maxand98 @Scott_Steger
...and has been held from mint by many prominent artists including @artplusbrad @Hackatao @theYRDGZ and has inspired derivatives by other artists including an epic recent drop by @0x8BitArt
It was also the inspiration for the dedicated XCOPY DAO aka The Doomed DAO (where almost 200 collectors co-own The Doomed)
Fun fact: edition #1 of The Doomed contains an error in the name of the artist - "Divo_Tvurce" instead of XCOPY like the other 99 editions. It is speculated that either KO made an error or that XCOPY was minting under a pseudonym and then changed his mind after the first mint was sold. Maybe XCOPY can finally tell us?
Fun fact #2: only 7 editions of The Doomed were minted in 2018, making these extra collectible and almost impossible to find!
The OG Doomed was followed by a number of colour variants including the iconic mono 1/1 on SuperRare (bought for $74 and still held by @MLOdotArt), and three more KO mints including the ultra rare x/6 Green & Black Doomed, x/10 Red Doomed and x/15 Red & Black Doomed
Art historian and XCOPY patron @maxand98 wrote a marvellous article on the evolution of The Doomed from 2013 in XCOPY's Tumblr blog, its essential reading for all collectors: maxand98.com/writing/xcopy-t…
Editions #1, #2, #24 and #36 of The Doomed are proudly in the Pella Collection along with every KO variant💀💀
