a society grows great when men build people movers in whose cars they know they will never sit... small-minded people keep talking about "delays" and "cost overruns" but i know this project is not for me but for my children's children
The long-delayed LAX People Mover project experienced multiple electrical arc blast incidents last month, according to a report obtained by 7 On Your Side Investigates, adding to a growing list of issues impacting a project that is already years behind schedule. abc7ne.ws/mheQmt

spending 2016 in lima writing for a business mag taught me more about latam politics than umpteen years of polisci/history classes

Lula no se merecía terminar su vida política perdiendo con un personaje tan indigno. A veces, muy pocas veces, la historia es justa.

It is 2011. I am walking too close to a chainlink fence in Los Angeles and slice my arm open on a rogue piece of wire. It is 2019. I am walking too close to a chainlink fence in Los Angeles and slice my arm open on a rogue piece of wire. It is 2026. I am wa

i love lists like these bc there's always a glaring outlier that shows the author's bias. that dl is 20% over the max score on the army fitness test but a ~7 min mile is roughly equivalent to the army's minimum passing score for the 2-mile run pre-2020 lol
a pretty good level of fitness for a guy is being able to squat 315, bench 225, deadlift 405 and run a mile in the ~7 minute mark No elite, or crazy level of fitness but you will run circles around majority of your peers

Why would you not shift this map half a mile north to show the Armenian consulate in Glendale lol
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, United States, has its own consular corridor along Wilshire Boulevard. Many countries share office towers between Westwood and Koreatown. The map shows 75 countries and entities, with more distant offices outside the frame.

happy he's gonna be okay in the short term but an nfl game and two transatlantic flights in 36 hours with a blood clot is deranged even by nfl standards, wish we had real reporting on how that went down
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs, has been undergoing tests for days. Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept.

kinda scary how often i'm seeing people say this lol, abbott and costello literally walk you through the joke slowly multiple times before they pick up the patter. vaudeville was lowbrow popular entertainment!
really uncomfortable moment in You Can See Everything where i didn’t understand the abbott and costello joke either

yes, it's a particular portrait of silicon valley delusion, and one done in a way not really seen before. shows how captivating it can be despite its open manipulativeness and deceit
the conceit of the holmes doc perfectly encapsulates a very specific genre of tech brainrot. two people who have so thoroughly bought into their own narrative that they genuinely believe they can force it upon the the world if given enough time, despite all the evidence otherwise
