It was assumed that the US was in a structural change with it's privilege of global attraction to the USD however when we look at history these eras are never permanent. Historical events show even though money can be printed and financial markets can be controlled what cannot be
As a 29er maybe instead of complaining about net new shorts maybe complain about HH + fixed fee pricing
QatarEnergy has signed to buy 4 mtpa of US LNG from Cheniere through 2054
The volume splits 2 mtpa from Sabine Pass and 2 mtpa from Corpus Christi, FOB, priced at Henry Hub plus a fixed fee. Deliveries start in the early 2030s.
One mtpa of the Sabine Pass volume depends on FID for phase one of the SPL Expansion, which adds Train 7 and more than 6 mtpa.
Iranian strikes damaged Ras Laffan liquefaction, and QatarEnergy expects repairs to take years. One of the world's top LNG exporters is now a long-term US buyer.
Reuters reports QatarEnergy is also in advanced talks with Venture Global, which holds the largest uncommitted US volume by one consultancy's estimate.
Qatar's lost capacity is now helping underwrite the next round of US liquefaction FIDs
TLDR for certain readers:
Cross-jurisdiction issues still exist as export controls on advanced compute (EAR/ITAR), differing AML regimes, sanctions lists, and reporting obligations but they are handled by the FCMs that already know the end customers plus the contract design itself, rather than creating a central bottleneck or forcing fully bilateral KYC on every trade. This being the established global futures model where it reduces (but does not eliminate) friction relative to fully non-intermediated or pure on-chain systems.
As Ian articulated in his CFTC letter, much of that is to be worked into the claim-level receipts in contract design. Not sure how this is any different from the many nuances of KYC eligible delivery into bonded or duty paid warehouses, graded or regulated commodities, or any other aspect of contract design basis. Unless I’m missing something else in your question?
…but I guess it would be easier to just bypass all the messy real stuff and list unregulated offshore CFDs on someone else’s hard work of standardizing everything, “protocolize” the entire financial system into automated “hyper bucketshops” ;)
Commodity brokers are getting ready to trade AI compute futures ahead of the CFTC decision
ADM Investor Services, BGC Group and Nanhua USA are setting up to execute orders for hedge funds, traders and corporates, per Bloomberg.
CME plans two cash-settled contracts priced off Silicon Data's GPU rental benchmarks, which track hourly rates for Nvidia H100 and B200 chips. Each covers 730 GPU-hours a month.
The CFTC took public comment on compute futures from August, with a November 9 review deadline tied to CME's launch.
ICE is developing contracts on the Ornn and NativX indices. Nodal Exchange has partnered with Compute Desk.
Compute needs a hedge market for the same reason power did: buyers are signing multi-year capacity deals

Really good conversation about hyperliquid. @EpsilonTheory
would be proud with the narrative construction and the focus on protocols ability to improve existence of liquidity formation. Also interesting about the comments of agnostic state of what instruments settle directly referenceing physical commodity contracts. Probably worth watching!

Brolin had a website on market signals back in the day, when they say never meet your heros God damn 🥺
Josh Brolin says he made more money trading stocks in 4 years than in 20 years as an actor
“I was day trading. I was swing trading and day trading. I made more money in those four years, really it was five years, but within four years, than I had made in 20 years acting”
“But I didn't really make hardly anything acting. I wasn't really working. I mean, think about it, dude. No Country, how much do you think I made from No Country? I had been doing it already for 22 years”
“That's pretty good. That was a good guess. One hundred. One hundred. So I cleared what, thirty? That's not considered a great year”

(1 of 9) Perpetual futures, or "perps," require some explanation before an informed judgment can be made about their threat to the regulated securities exchanges. To date, their sole allure seems to be with retail investors.

Over 5 years public—from development stage to actively ramping up Abaxx Exchange volumes on globally-important benchmarks—the data shows we’ve been effective and disciplined with cash (human capital >> financial capital) and protective of our share structure, especially for a “special situation” with no real comps.
This NCIB is just one small part of a deliberate strategy over our funded runway the next 12–18 months to enhance long-term per-share value as we enter our highest-growth phase yet.

Pretty classic hedgeye research, down 25% over the following months 🙃
$MNTN is a debt-free CTV compounder trading at a ~30% discount to peers while growing EBITDA faster than nearly all of them.
Daryl Jones @HedgeyeDJ sees 60%+ upside in that gap.
