Some personal news: I've joined Google DeepMind as a Research Engineer on the Robotics team, just wrapped up my first week! So grateful to be part of such a thoughtful team pushing the frontier of embodied intelligence. Now that I'm settling into the Bay, I'm looking to start or join a group house in the South Bay or SF. I'd love to live with people who are equally obsessed with frontier AI/robotics, and create a space together where we can connect over dinner and talk about anything from dexterity to world models, or just life. Flexible on timing – anywhere from Aug 1 to Sep 1 works. If you're interested or know of a house, DMs are open!

Can we build world models purely in the latent space, without pixel prediction? We present Contrastive World Models - we train the latent states to maximize mutual information with future observations, without any decoders / pixel reconstruction. Contrastive World Models enables ⚡ Substantially more robust representations 🤖 More efficient training by removing the pixel decoder entirely 🌍 A general approach with minimal assumptions [1/n]

Building in the New Spatial Intelligence Era · @SpaceFronClub × @MissionRobotBay On September 23, Spatial Frontier Club and Mission Robotics are once again bringing the community together in San Francisco. 🥂 We’re overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and support, with over 500 registrations and our event being listed again as featured in San Francisco by Luma. 🔥🔥 Our speakers: 🔹 Salman Shahid @_sshahid_ | @GoogleDeepMind Research Engineer working on Embodied Reasoning, with a focus on training dexterous robot policies while preserving model generalization. 🔹 Hokin Deng @DengHokin | @CarnegieMellon Researcher studying how AI understands and predicts the physical world from video, and lead of VBVR, a video model benchmark spanning 56 authors across 32 universities. 🔹 Jake Fitzgerald @earthtojake | @spc Creator of an open-source project with 16K GitHub stars and 200K downloads. Jake will share how he used AI tools to build a six-degree-of-freedom robot arm without prior robot-building experience—and what he learned about using LLMs to build hardware. 🔹 Andrey Gizdov @andreygizdov | @OpenVectorLabs (YC S26) CEO and Co-Founder of OpenVector, a YC-backed startup building Vision-Language-Action (VLA) systems to understand and track real-world processes. His research spans compute-efficient multimodal models and spatial reasoning, with publications at CVPR, ECCV, and AAAI. Can't wait to meet everyone for an incredible evening! 📍 San Francisco 📅 Wednesday, September 23 🕠 6:00 - 9:00 PM Register on Luma: luma.com/3kwuatyr #SpatialIntelligence #WorldModels #Robotics #PhysicalAI #SpatialFrontierClub 🔥 🔥

Absolutely cracked founders
Today we're launching Hebbian Robotics (YC S26) @hbr_pbc . We build APIs for evaluating data quality, without training a robotics model. Data vendors use our API to search and analyze Physical AI data at scale, getting on-demand quality signals and metrics without managing infrastructure. High-quality data is the bottleneck to the next frontier of intelligence in robotics. Buyers want data they can trust. Data providers are focused on operational excellence. They don't have the bandwidth to understand the quality of their data at scale. We're fixing this. Vendors use our APIs to understand the impact of their decisions on their data quality: - Buyers demanding per-collector hour limits? Prove compliance while we stay ahead of the workarounds. - Changed your collection SOPs? Monitor for quality drift and regression. - Suspect duplicate samples? Verify with a single API call. Before Hebbian, I trained AI models for industrial cleaning robots, and @kstonekuan spent years building large-scale infrastructure at Jane Street.

Yesterday was my last day @spacexai. I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of xAI’s journey in the last year. I got the chance to work on 3 different teams, contribute to challenging problems, and hangout with cool folks that I now call great friends. Special shout out to @VastoLorde95 and the entirety of the X engineering team for making my experience unforgettable. From changing my country’s flag 🇮🇷 (s/o @nikitabier 🐐) and rewriting the twitter ad stack, to f_score, and go/nads, I made so many memories that I’ll always cherish. Thank you @elonmusk! I learned a lot from seeing you operate at trillion scale. Much love, Parsa P.S. s/o @jon for getting the ads team the legendary mariachi band P.P.S. First pic is the charitable view warroom. We pretty lived there for 12 weeks. The photo was taken on the last day of the migration (had to do 40h this time 💀) P.P.P.S. I got the grok sticker on my laptop in my 2nd month in a recruiting event organized by @barisakis 🐐 P.P.P.P.S. Fun fact, I actually broke my foot in dec and was hopping around on crutches at office for a while. Good times

Taste is the last frontier
1/ Introducing Datapoint AI Intelligence is being commoditized. Good judgement is still rare. We collect human preference data that trains frontier models, by replacing mobile ads with preference tasks.

We just raised $7.2M USD to make insurance feel magical. Nobody has ever said "my insurer was so easy to deal with." We're changing that. @generalmagic_ai builds AI agents that text your customers and complete insurance workflows end to end. 30 minute quotes now take 3.
