95% of procurement leaders call negotiation their top-value activity. 45% trust their own cost modeling. That 50-point gap is the session. Oct 7, with @TheHackettGroup + @aPriori_Inc. 👉 apriori.com/resources/webina… #negotiation #procurement #ai

aPriori Discovery Dashboard: Find Value in Unfinished Design Work Not all design work gets finished or published. When priorities change, potential cost savings and manufacturing improvements can get left behind. The new aPriori Discovery Dashboard makes that work visible, showing where unfinished work could lower costs, improve #manufacturing, and shorten production times. 👉 Read our blog to see how it works: apriori.com/blog/apriori-dis… #DesignEngineering #DigitalManufacturing

18 quotes on a simple turned part. The spread: 10:1. Geography barely correlated. That's not a sourcing problem. It's what commercial cost drivers look like in the wild. See the full anatomy of that variance 👉 apriori.com/resources/report… #costengineering #shouldcost #manufacturing

Indirect costs run 8% to 12% of total operating costs, McKinsey says. Most cost-cutting still targets direct costs only. See the full breakdown of indirect versus direct cost drivers 👉 apriori.com/blog/discover-ho… #dfm #costengineering #manufacturing #procurement

63% of procurement organizations say skills and expertise, not tools or headcount, are their #1 barrier to effective category management. 91% call negotiation the single most important sourcing skill they have. Most should cost estimates are guesses dressed up as data. Automated should cost analysis skips the guesswork and runs the calculation on physics instead, straight from the 3D CAD model. 👉 apriori.com/blog/automated-s… #dfm #manufacturing

Most RFQ queues have a silent capacity drain: budgetary requests that look real but never convert. Simulation-speed quoting changes the cost of responding. More quotes, same team. 👉 apriori.com/manufacturing-cu… #rfq #manufacturing #quoting

Your supplier walks in knowing exactly what their part costs to make. Materials, cycle time, margin, cold. Your buyer usually doesn't. That's the gap 77% of procurement teams get stuck in. See how aiSource™ closes it 👉 apriori.com/blog/suppliers-k… #procurement #dfm

Stop Allowing Suppliers To Drive Your Should Cost Accuracy Most procurement teams evaluate should cost by how closely it matches the supplier's quote. That's backwards. The supplier's quote should be measured against your should cost — not the other way around. When you flip that logic, you stop validating someone else's pricing and start challenging it. Three myths we see constantly: → "A good should cost matches the supplier's quote." (It doesn't have to — the supplier's margin, volume assumptions, and regional costs all affect their number.) → "Our estimates are too far off to be useful." (Teams using aPriori consistently hit single-digit accuracy at early design stages.) → "We just need directional data." (Directional is fine early. But late-stage, you need a defensible baseline — or you're negotiating blind.) The teams winning in supplier negotiations aren't the ones who react to quotes. They're the ones who walk in with an independent cost position and ask: Does your quote reflect what this part should actually cost to make? That's not a dream state. That's a methodology. apriori.com/blog/which-comes… #shouldcost #suppliersquote #costaccuracy #procurement

Only 48% of manufacturers hit their cost-saving targets in 2024. One factor: manual, siloed costing tools that slow teams down and limit who can actually contribute. Four ways modern costing software closes that gap. 👉 apriori.com/blog/product-sho… #costengineering #manufacturing #shouldcost
