Interesting analysis by @JeanneClelland on the 2022 Special Election for Alaska. She concludes approval voting would select the Condorcet winner (Begich) with just 36% approving more than one. If not, Peltola still wins with Begich in 2nd. arxiv.org/html/2303.00108v2
Just another candidate running for governor and leading in the polls while hyping up approval voting. youtube.com/watch?v=EEZLi9i_…

The nonprofit I helped start and build for ten years shut down today. After the board decided I wasn't the right fit for @ElectionScience, they managed to dissolve the organization within three years. Very sad.
Avoiding those board mistakes with @BallotLab. A tough lesson.
Obviously encouraging folks to shift their support from CES to Ballot Lab. I think you'll like what you find! ballotlab.org/

The City and @septaphilly are testing new modular bus boarding islands.
Made of recycled rubber, they make it easier to get on and off a bus, especially for people with a stroller or wheelchair.
Check the first new island at the 16th and Arch bus stop next to @loveparkphilly.
Nice read on primary systems and the null or near-null effect on partisanship relative to closed systems. I'd be curious about interaction effects with center-biased methods like approval voting.
Naturally, Drutman makes a callout to PR, which I tend to sympathize on.

The Market Street Old City Improvement Project has been completed between 2nd and 6th!
🌳Street trees and planters
🚲Raised bike lanes
🚌Bus bump-outs
🚦Traffic signals, and more.
We hope residents, businesses, and visitors in Old City enjoy this new streetscape!

Internet/mobile voting may sound convenient, but as our Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs, C.Jay Coles, points out: "Saying something is secure does not actually make it so."

A sad day for Fargo voters who have to go back to the worst voting method in existance. This is after state lawmakers feared approval voting might trickle up to them and hold them accountable. mprnews.org/story/2026/06/09…
