I work in one of the biggest Law firms in Scotland. I get on the Bus with the elected Managing Chairman every evening, sometimes the man dey trek go house.. Public Transport shouldn’t be a sign on poverty, I don’t blame you, I blame the system!!

To show you how crazy this thing is, your Team member in London can qualify, but Tade, living in Manchester, might not qualify This is because some companies operate a regional based salary I can't even imagine having to wait for 5 extra years all because of 271 😭😭

IMO, the fairer thing would’ve been for everyone on COS before the May 2025 White Paper still do their 5 years. It’s harsh for everyone who has contributed in the last 4/5 year.

the unfair part of this is subjecting other people earning less than £50k to the 10 year wait. Makes no damn sense cos a lot of skilled people are earning between £40,000 and £50,000. Ideally, they should be earning more but because it’s the UK, that’s what they get, and now they have to wait longer to earn settlement.
