The founder of the wearable device Temple, Mr. Deepinder Goyal (who has blocked me on Twitter) has now put out an official statement regarding concerns raised by the medical community on the said device being a scam.
As expected, he has written a word salad. This man has provided no real evidence or proof that his device, which he is selling for INR 85,000/- can measure and interpret brain flow from a superficial artery (superficial temporal artery - which is an extracranial artery - meaning a blood vessel placed entirely outside the skull, supplying blood to the side of the face, temple, and scalp regions).
His own Science Lead (Avi Roy) has accepted that the fact that their device is not yet proven to measure brain flow or "entropy" as they claim on their website and additionally, has directly addressed concerns of poor methodology as well as statisitical misrepresentation, without respond to clear evidence of data falsification in their pre-print papers.
Other wearables like Whoop (which he cited) measured and validated exactly what the wearable can measure within limits of human anatomy and physiology. Temple is overdoing it and defrauding its potential customers. The device can only measure blood flow and flushing to the face in humans and has ansolutely NOTHING to do with the brain as they claim. This is the issue, not what can happen in the future. The device itself fails its primary objective.
There is no our science and your science. But there is bad science, fringe science and science fraud and Team Temple, embraced all of these.
Temple device is a scam. There is no doubt about it. The question is however, how long can this man and his team keep defrauding people under the garb of "we are spending millions for you" or "we are trying our best" or "we are taking the risk" kind of responses?
These farts in the windtunnel responses are not what is expected from a company who's website claims "solid science". There is solid fraud though - pathetic little businessmen.

My scooty is over 15 years old, and today I was fined ₹3,000 simply because its 15-year registration validity had expired.
But what is the logic behind this?
My scooty is in perfectly good running condition. I get it serviced regularly and maintain it properly. Just because it has crossed 15 years, does that automatically make it unsafe?
If the government can penalize me for using a well-maintained scooter because of its age, then who is going to hold the government accountable for potholes and broken roads that damage our vehicles and put our lives at risk?
In our latest Taking Stock, we argued that a blue sweep in the US midterms could prove a tailwind for Indian equities. The Nifty 50 is up almost 2% today, lending early support to that view.

The American people do not owe “loyalty” to any politician. They owe loyalty to us. Your loyalty is to your nation. You support politicians when they do the right thing and criticize them when they do the wrong thing. They serve you. Not the other way around.
I would say Crystal Maze is right up there. The host, the music, the games, the sets, the tension and the final prize. Amazing show.

The economics segment of the recently introduced NCERT textbooks for Social Science (Grade 9, Part 2) now has a chapter on personal finance. Students are taught basics about fixed deposits, mutual funds, EMI, taxes, risk-return and so on. The idea is to provide them with useful life skills. 1/2
This is because nothing is planned for the future. Everything is planned for today's problem which gets executed tomorrow and by day-after a new problem arises.
The Maharashtra state government should immediately rename the Eastern Freeway. Even Google Maps has given up on the word “free.” 😒
At 9:30 am, Maps showed 49 minutes for the next 13 km. If you’ve already spent an hour covering the first 10–15 km just to get here, that’s over 2hrs one way. With a similar crawl on the way back, you could spend more than four hours a day on the road, even if you leave at 8 am and head back at 6 pm.
An everyday ordeal for commuters. What’s the point of a freeway if both its entry and exit points are major bottlenecks? Add the chaos where Atal Setu meets the Eastern Freeway and you have to ask how these roads were planned to work together.
#Mumbai
I can confidently say that @MTPHereToHelp has failed to conduct its basic duty to keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently. Every nook of Mumbai has wrong way driving, zero lane keeping, incessant honking and hours of jams. Add to that zero fear of law. Sad.

Last night Trump said he could have won Vietnam in a week. His plan was “going after Ho Chi Minh City.”
Ho Chi Minh City was Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Our ally. The enemy’s capital was Hanoi. We bombed it.
He called the presidents who fought that war stupid, then explained how he’d have won it by attacking our own side.
58,220 Americans died in that war. Trump got five deferments. Now he’s telling the rest of us how easy it would have been.
He’s had more than fifty years to learn which side we were on. He still hasn’t. That alone should disqualify him from sending anybody else’s kids to war.
Instead, he’s weighing more strikes on Iran after Tuesday. His administration has reportedly considered using the “mother of all bombs,” the one he calls “like a tiny nuclear bomb.”
The man who thinks we should have bombed our ally’s capital gets to choose the targets.

Even if it only helped this one person get out and vote... it was worth it.
NOTHING will work except effective traffic policing. They are generally busy hiding in corners to catch a wrong turn on a deserted road whereas no police is seen at actual chokepoints Ex: Sion flyover from EEH in the morning.
Metros need a TOTAL revamp of traffic.
Incessant honking across India's cities and towns, including Mumbai is surely one cause of road rage apart from mental health issues for those who spend longer periods on the road.
There are habitual offenders, like two wheelers overtaking from the left, or four wheelers who are more insulated from sounds.
What could be a design intervention to reduce honking, via awareness or some other disincentives + incentives ?
