been trying to explain to people that this is an Akira level magnitude of filmmaking
glad I wasn’t the only one who picked up on that
Something I found really special about #Wildwood was how much homage it paid to other works like Labyrinth, Pinocchio, heck, I even felt there was a loose allusion to Hereditary in there. It’s just such a gorgeous and earnest ode to art and storytelling.

wildwood is one of those animated films that, like spiderverse or arcane or klaus before it, makes you walk out of it thinking that animation is one of the greatest mediums of art and storytelling ever achieved I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it
It’s Best Picture to me. It runs laps around The Odyssey.
‘WILDWOOD’ is already the favorite to win the Oscar for Best Animated Film.

Wildwood should be nominated for Best Picture.
Animated or not, it’s an incredible achievement in filmmaking and it deserves to be recognised as such.

Love that Wildwood author Colin Meloy and Wildwood illustrator Carson Ellis got cameos in the movie.
