All of this org is insane lmfao
The DSA National Political Committee has voted to unendorse and expel Nithya Raman
She has until October 31 to express clear direct support for BDS to retain endorsement, and until January 1 to condemn weapon shipments for Israel out of LAX to remain a member of DSA
Both resolutions are linked below
Actually really agree with this. If California had more competition in politics it would make for a better state.
I’m literally crying tears of laughter
🚨Trump-endorsed #IA02 candidate Joe Mitchell was caught on camera "crying about his d— size" and making disparaging comments about Black women.
Snapchat screenshots show Mitchell talking about using Xanax and video shows him saying that he doesn’t like “f—ing white people” 🧵
I’m never one to hold people to what they said if they apologize but it seems every time she speaks she is changing her mind or admitting she was wrong
NEW: Who is an example of a police chief that Nithya Raman really respects or admires?
"I don't know...I don't know."
Raman is now apologizing for her recent debate remarks that LAPD Chief Daryl Gates was a "gold standard" for his handling of immigration. Critics accuse Gates of racist policies.
"It was a mistake to reference his name at all. I was trying to make a point and I fumbled that point. That point was not to praise Daryl Gates in any shape or form. I sincerely apologize for mentioning his name. I know it causes real pain for so many people across Los Angeles and I shouldn't have said it."
Raman has said she wants to dismiss current LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell but has not floated any names of potential replacements.
We'll have a lot more with Raman coming soon on @CNNTheStoryIs
Carusos properties are some of the only malls and shopping centers thriving in the LA area and are the reason why LA mall culture hasn’t died like the rest of the country’s
Did @MayorOfLA call in favors with federal agencies for priority treatment of billionaire Rick Caruso’s commercial properties over other properties in the Palisades?
According to this email I received a few months ago, that appears to be the case.
Genuinely would rather swim with sharks than have to choose between these candidates

The endorsement is noteworthy because the other four county supervisors and 13 of Raman's City Council colleagues -- including fellow DSA members -- support Bass.

This is so sad
⚠️ ROAD CLOSURE AT WESTWARD BEACH
Additional erosion has undermined the roadway and exposed a County water main west of ongoing active emergency revetment work.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department has closed Westward Beach Road between the Birdview cul-de-sac and the west corner of The Sunset Restaurant. Please avoid the closed area and follow traffic control instructions.
A contractor for LA County is using equipment and materials already on site to help prevent further erosion and damage. City maintenance crews are assisting with traffic control.
As a precaution, Water District 29 will temporarily shut off water service, affecting The Sunset Restaurant.
The City will continue assessing conditions throughout the night to determine when the road can safely reopen.

This anarchist strain of leftism sucks and is stupid.
Anonymous submission:
Last week, a group of activists disabled the OMNY readers at the BQ Church Avenue station in Brooklyn with an automatic center punch and drill. They opened the gate so people can ride for free, and painted the cameras to protect themselves and fellow riders from surveillance.
This was deliberate act of protest against unaffordable transit, hyper-surveillance in predominantly Black and brown neighborhoods, and the MTA's collaboration with the military industrial complex.
YOU ARE BEING WATCHED. OMNY records when and where you travel, your photograph, name, DOB, billing address, and other personal details. This invasive tech creates a profile to track your life and travel patterns. OMNY’s privacy policy places no limits on the data it collects about you.
EVERY TAP FUNDS A WAR PROFITEER. OMNY is operated by Cubic, a military equipment company making combat simulators. They sell the F-35 fighter jet training system to imperialist zionist entities like israel. The F-35 is a key weapon in israel's genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and all of the US's imperialist wars, responsible for massacring millions of people.
FIGHT BACK. The MTA and Cubic don't deserve your hard earned cash. Take action, smash a reader, jump the turnstile, hold the gate for others. If you must pay, use cash for OMNY cards, and tap yourself and fellow riders in. This makes you all less traceable. Cover your face and identifying features. Always check for police before evading the fare. Remember, contracted security guards have no authority to stop or detain passengers.
RIDE FREE, FUCK THE NYPD, AND FREE PALESTINE!

Don't hand LA back over to the DSA/Bonin/Gascon crowd. We already lived through that failed social experiment, and it was awful. We've worked too hard and come too far to go backwards.

It always takes me out how ultra conservative Newport and ultra liberal Laguna are right next to each other
Vibes based midterm predictions, i actually think dems have a really good chance at winning the senate through Alaska, Texas, or Iowa but I’m gonna give republicans an edge there. Alaska House is light red.
Don’t mess with franks red hot that’s the best condiment on earth
