First up this morning is Saint Etienne
“Tiger Bay”
Folk songs done in a (1994) modern style, it was always going to be difficult to follow up the magnificent “Foxbase Alpha” and “So Tough”, but I like this more now than I did back then
Sunday morning the clocks have gone back, back to 1968 here, first up The Band
“Music from Big Pink”
They’ve all left us now but this music will be played for millennia yet
Listening to this twofer by Slapp Happy a pairing of “Casablanca Moon” & “Desperate Straights”
All good stuff
Bought a long time ago from a charity shop these Miles Davis Quintet discs are great, it may have been Miles’s band but Coltrane hogs the solos (apparently he wanted his own band at the time)
Taken from a radio broadcast I believe the sound is excellent
That’s value for a £1 🤣
