How can there be a wedding without the groom?
Saudi statement on Mecca Agreement members meeting Iran yesterday. It was not foreign ministers, but defence and intelligence representatives which led this exchange. Saudi statement backs Qatari and Pakistani mediation efforts. Interestingly, Qatar had a delegation in Tehran few hours prior to this, but Doha also maintaining a distance from Mecca Agreement construct.

Many tech companies have declared that they are instruments of policy of their home country governments. This is the other side of the coin.
For the first time this year, data centers have become targets for bombardment in global conflicts. Our analysis shows at least 27 such attacks in 2026. Experts worry the targeting of data centers opens a Pandora's box that cannot be closed. nbcnews.com/tech/security/da…

#Opinion | For something to be called a race, it must fulfil three conditions, which the competitive pursuit of AI does not. India should resist this idea before it distorts resource allocation— and focus instead on deploying AI to its advantage. ✍️ @acorn livemint.com/opinion/online-…

It was a pleasure to address the inaugural ASEAN-India Defence Think Tank forum hosted by @IDSAIndia The opening speech by @rajnathsingh was very useful in setting the tone and path ahead for sustainable defence cooperation between India and Southeast Asian states. I also learned a lot from the insights kindly shared by everyone and it’s always a pleasure to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Thank you @IDSAIndia for the kind invitation and hospitality 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Dr @EvanLaksmana , Shangri-La Dialogue Senior Fellow for Southeast Asian Security and Defence, @IISS_org , believes that India must stop treating ASEAN as a single entity: collaboration is bilateral, with each state differing in capabilities, needs and commitments. Every engagement must therefore be bespoke to individual partner state within ASEAN and underpinned by agreed metrics of success. #ASEANIndiaDTTF #IndiaASEAN #DefencePartnership @ASEAN @SGinIndia

This is the reason why Starlink cannot be treated as private business. Like Huawei.

Okay, let me spell it out fully. If Pakistani diplomacy succeeds, India's fuel worries ease. If it fails, Pakistan gets drawn into a complex conflict to its west.

The GOI has $14 billion sitting in the USO (Universal Service Obligation) fund courtesy @acorn) This should now be utilised to help Indian telecom network providers like @airtelindia and @reliancejio to urgently put up their satellite networks to compete with @elonmusk Starlink. A genuine public- private partnership can surely generate the required momentum for India to launch its own communication satellite network. India can and should challenge Musk’s monopoly in space based communications. @NamoApp @narendramodi @AshwiniVaishnaw @shwwetapunj @PTI_News @ShereenBhan

I was on @CNNnews18 to discuss Starlink and its risks and opportunity.
#ElonMusk | Elon Musk alleges that powerful business interests are blocking Starlink in India to protect their monopoly, while the government cites security clearance concerns. Is this about protecting competition or safeguarding national security? India should not consider a blanket ban on foreign satellite mega-constellations like Starlink or rely exclusively on domestic satellite internet providers: @ashwinprasadrao, Staff Research Analyst, Advanced Military Technology and Outer Space Programme #Starlink #TheHardFacts | @RShivshankar
