An additional £150,506 has been match funded by various members of our Community Safety Partnership to deliver the Safer Streets Programme in Witham. We will be focusing on improving people’s perception of safety and reducing Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG), neighbourhood crime and anti-social behaviour as part of the programme. We would like to know your views on crime and whether you feel safe in areas of Witham. You can also be entered into a prize draw for completing the survey in order to win a £50 Amazon voucher!

ALT Improving Children's On-Road Cycling with Immersive Video-Based Training: A Pilot Study 1) Seventeen 10-12 year-olds completed a video-based immersive cycle training intervention. Sixteen matched controls received no immersive training. All had completed Bikeability Level 2 training. 2) Both groups' on-road cycling performance was assessed by Bikeability instructors, in relation to the 4 Core Functions stated in the UK National Standard for cycling (abbreviated): Observation, Communication, Position & Priorities. 3) The Intervention group significantly outperformed the Control group, across all 4 Core Functions. Immersive cycle training may be a useful complement to Bikeability Level 2 training. Conclusion: An immersive cycle training intervention improved young children's on-road cycling Funded by the Road Safety Trust Grant No. 225 7 20 Bishop et al. (2022)
