i’ll always look back on this era of the internet with fondness. when anyone can make anything with less effort, obviously there will be way more. but the internet will adapt. great things will bubble to the top, and even better things will get cult followings. and that’s hype.

I’m feeling grateful but also kinda sad that I made Super Smash Land back in 2011. We might look back on that time as the golden age of fan projects. Vibe coding has kinda killed all the good vibes of fan games.

it doesn’t take a $100k student loan to learn to make software anymore. it doesn’t take quitting your job and missing meals to make ends meet anymore. you don’t have to shop around for investors to live off to make something big. that is really exciting. we should be excited.
