At Greenwich T8 @AmericanAir @JFKairport. Is this an acceptable state to find a bathroom? No toilet paper in first stall, only other vacant stall filthy & floor sticky, sinks strewn with wet paper towels. Open trash can with big black bag alongside. #paxex #avgeek #flyertalk

How about building a high speed rail line to IAD from DC? Or maybe a spur from Amtrak?Have any similar proposals ever been made and rejected? @the_transit_guy
One part of Trump's $22 billion makeover of Dulles that's been missed is his big, beautiful, world-record 32,000-spot parking garage. That's *way* more parking than recent estimates show the airport needs, and it would tower over the historic terminal: notus.org/metro/dulles-airpo…

A few points on this: 1. Magyar has a different political background from Orbán. He is rooted in the centre-right tradition of József Antall (Prime Minister in 1990-1993), through personal links and conviction. Orbán was left-wing in the Nineties and is now on the radical right.

“Irish delegates” — new departure, or has this become standard practice for Ireland’s representatives when Israelis speak in the presence of Irish counterparts around the world? @RachelMoiselle @IsraelinIreland
Turkish, Jordanian and Irish delegates walked out of a speech by an Israeli minister at a conference in Marrakesh. Morocco normalised ties with Israel alongside the UAE and Bahrain in the 2020 Abraham Accords. But Israel's regional relations have been strained by its war on Gaza.

Greek Orthodox patriarch expresses condolences on Nasrallah’s death, and support for Hezbollah. Seems that orthodox Christianity has not confronted antisemitism as Catholics did in Vatican 2. Any reading recommendations on the topic? @ICJSBaltimore @danjoslynsiem

Does anyone in #publishing know what might lead an author to terminate their contract for their book, such that the electronic versions are withdrawn from sale and the physical versions will only be on sale for another year? Seems strange for a topic which is particularly timely

Where have you published the survey itself which gave these results? What were the exact questions? How many people were asked, and what was the methdology? @JewishPolicy
📈 Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) survey of Israelis: 73% support Trump’s plan to relocate Gazans, including 43% who view it as “practical" and 30%  who describe it as unrealistic but "desirable." 13% call Trump’s proposal “immoral.”

Is AlAraby TV and QudsNews two different names for the same outfit? One lists its location as Qatar but the other does not. And the QudsNen account is listed as based in the UK… @talhagin @michael_mils

Having just listened to today’s @Haaretz #השבוע podcast, I wonder whether this shipment was actually intended to help combat the problem of destitute, hungry Gazans turning to prostitution or underage “marriage”, which @shlomieldar @FalahSaab @liorkodner discussed. Thoughts?
It was announced today that the Trump Administration stopped the shipment of $50M in condoms to Gaza. The retail online cost of a single condom is $2. A $50M shipment means the Biden Administration had approved delivery of at least 25 million condoms (assuming that the Biden team couldn’t get a discount for such a large purchase) to a population of just 2 million — more than half of whom are women and children. So that’s at least 25 condoms per male adult! Any idiot would know these condoms were not earmarked for their intended use. Indeed, Hamas wanted to fill them with helium to carry bombs over the border. It’s absolutely insane that Biden’s staff approved this.

Fascinating discussion on אחד ביום podcast about Ireland/Israel relations & antisemitism in the context of October 7th @Elad_Si @TselaRubel. Considered making an English version (even a translated transcript)? Valuable for people in Ireland and non-Hebrew speakers in general

This is a ridiculous claim: many Orthodox Jews have preexisting conditions which would be at risk if the ACA were abrogated. As @avitalrachel noted, Orthodox women have abortions too. And yes, there are even Orthodox undocumented immigrants. forward.com/life/406674/orth…
Orthodox Jews won’t have to worry about losing healthcare or their voting rights. They won’t worry about their safety from police or being deported. Antisemitism is real. But comparing us to other marginalized groups in this country ignores decades of American Jewish history.

BREAKING: Senior officials in Israel state that this is the emerging agreement to end the war in the north. White House envoy Hochstein has reached understandings during his recent visit to Lebanon and may come to Israel soon to finalize a deal. Israeli officials are optimistic that an agreement framework is near. The emerging understandings include: pushing Hezbollah north of the Litani River, implementing an "extended" version of Resolution 1701, establishing an international enforcement mechanism, and preventing the rearmament of Hezbollah. The agreement is expected to begin with a "60-day adjustment period," and Russia has expressed willingness to assist in its implementation and "will play a role," according to Israeli sources. Lebanese sources warned that the window of opportunity might close soon: "The opportunity will pass." This link is to my story in hebrew: ynet.co.il/news/article/yokr…

On the eve of the one-year mark since the October 7 massacre, I urge all who claim to care about Palestinians in Gaza and beyond to remember what this dark day represents for the Israeli and Jewish people. Please understand that 10/7 was an exceptionally painful day in which over 1,000 were criminally murdered and maimed; children, women, and bystanders were randomly killed, kidnapped, abused, and taken hostage; remember the trauma that this unjustified terror act has brought upon the Jewish people, making it the worst single-day attack since the Holocaust. Do not celebrate Hamas, the despicable terror organization that has destroyed Gaza, held its people hostage, and delivered them on a silver platter to the most extremist government in Israel’s history. Do not taunt the Jewish people or boast about the supposed act of resistance, which October 7 was not. Do not harass people who are commemorating the tragedy and its victims. Please be mindful and respectful. Be as outraged and horrified as you want to be about Gaza and the unbelievable death and destruction there. But give Israelis and Jews the space to remember their lost loved ones. The two traumas do not have to cancel each other out; they are, in fact, intertwined, and only this recognition can help us move forward. Gaza is central to my being, identity, lived experience, and connection to the land. I care deeply about ending the war and being part of the Strip’s transformation. But that would never mean denying the horrors that Hamas and other terrorists committed on October 7. Not in my name. I stand with my Jewish brothers, sisters, and allies in remembering those who lost their lives on that fateful day, and pledged to always be a partner in pursuit of healing, reconciliation, justice, freedom, safety, security, and dignity for all.
