A momentous day for London.
I’m so excited to see our plans to transform Oxford Street becoming a reality.
And this is just the beginning.
Or it is this. The Board of Deputies, however flawed in certain ways through its delegate system, is representative through its member institutions, reoresenting the vast majority of Jews who actively take part in any and every area of Jewish life in Britain.
As I always ask, where are the anti-Zionist synagogues, youth groups, schools, care homes, even burial societies. They don't exist because 1. There isnt any kind of serious number to even make a small youth group operational and sustainable.
It's quite amusing, as anyone who has ever watched a Board of Deputies plenary meeting (niche, I know), will know that getting this group of people to agree on almost anything is a miracle. Let alone a vote of 118 to just 1. And my bet is the 1 just did it for bantz.

This sneering attitude to Googlebox, a perfect example of modern working class popular culture, is what epitomises the Greens and the understanding of class dynamics. I love Googlebox and I don’t think it’s beneath the PM to understand that engaging with the things that ordinary people enjoy is a good thing

Thanks to our efforts, Stratford International is getting closer to welcoming international trains by 2030.
Direct links to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam would bring jobs, investment and new opportunities to east London and beyond ⬇️
Built to serve as a major international train hub in east London, Stratford International is yet to see a single cross-Channel service stop there.
The Standard's Luke Reevey got an exclusive behind the scenes look at the ambitious-yet-unused station at the heart of plans to improve international train services for millions of Londoners.

Octopus may have signed a sweetheart deal, but they haven't stopped GMB.
We represent hundreds of Octopus workers and will continue organising across the business, supporting our members and pursuing our recognition campaign.
GMB is here to stay.

This is the kind of discrimination that the NEU are seeking to minimise, sideline, and bundle up with "all forms of racism."
But why? Why not just acknowledge who we are, and what we've lived through?

By sheer coincidence, it was my turn to do Thought For The Day at TTA this morning, so I chose to talk about the horrific attack in Golders Green yesterday, and what it means to be a Jew in 2026 Britain.
Please give it a few minutes of your time if you can.

This is incredibly concerning and frankly shocking - Turning Point UK and its leaders should be fully investigated for their links as an organisation and as individuals to paramilitaries and organised violence, and we need transparency on their funding.
A former Tory election candidate has been suspended from the party after he was seemingly filmed discussing the cost of hiring contract killers and offering to “broker” the services of a far-right activist with alleged paramilitary links.

This Labour government has:
✅ Hit its target of having the fastest economic growth in the G7
📈 Secured multiple unexpectedly good growth statistics, and
🧑💻Started to deliver more efficient public services
Now the budget next week should:
💷 Help consumers with the cost of living, and
📊 Help businesses to grow, export and employ more.

Some chatter on social media would have you believe that crime is out of control.
The facts tell a different story.
As @frasernelson has shown in his Substack today:
Violence is at its lowest level since the crime survey began in 1981.
Robbery is at a record low.
Crime, excluding fraud, is 78% down on its peak in 1995.
And the stats show this Government is delivering on its promises too:
Knife crime is down 11%.
Knife murders are at their lowest level in 35 years.
Thefts including phone snatching have fallen by 20% in the last year alone.
But I know there is more that we must do, and we will:
We’ve put more than 3,800 extra neighbourhood officers into roles, with named, contactable officers for every neighbourhood.
We’re introducing the most significant reforms to policing in a generation.
We are tackling rising rates of violence against women and girls through our landmark strategy.
And we are tackling crimes like fraud, more prevalent in our increasingly online world, with £250 million directed to this challenge in our Fraud Strategy published this year.

51% of Jewish teachers - many of them NEU members - experienced antisemitism in school in the past year.
Fixing this starts with defining the problem. IHRA spotlights the insidious and often subtle nature of antisemitism. It doesn't stifle criticism of the government of Israel.
