A colleague told me yesterday that kids with training wheels don’t bike in bike lanes. Thanks for proving them wrong.

Unlike last night, we have clear skies and even a full moon (for luck)! Removals have begun at Sherbourne and Esplanade. There are also unrelated works at Jarvis and Esplanade which has the whole intersection blocked off.

You can get a rebate from the government of Canada to buy an electric car, but not if you buy a much cheaper, much healthier, and much more environmentally friendly cargo bike. Let’s fix that. + @MyAssiniboine, let’s chat about copying @LibroCU. cbc.ca/news/canada/london/lo…

Fully in support @jenniferstoryTO and @rchernoslin. I'm working full time with two kids under four - we need safe, full time schools and daycares by September or we are all in an impossible situation @Sflecce #TDSB thestar.com/politics/provinc…

I am coming off 5.5 months of #parentalleave. Here's why I think more men should take them, and 3 reasons why I'm grateful for the opportunity. 1. family, 2. work, and 3. in a micro way, help address the societal double standard that penalizes women for putting family first

Paternity leave is good for society: it's not fair that men get ahead when women take maternity leave. Our society needs to reward paternity leave (this is improving in Canada; and we couldn't have afforded it without EI$). Let's expect more of men in parenting, esp of young kids

Reinforced lessons from my leave: 1. Childcare is hard work & undervalued. Care providers deserve higher pay & recognition. Daycare needs higher subsidy, esp for low-income families. 2. Kids benefit from the love of a 2nd parent, routine, & snacks, preferably at the same time

Gotta end or highly regulate these wildlife markets. It’s unethical and dangerous. cbc.ca/news/world/wildlife-m…
