I remember I first saw community mailboxes in suburban Ottawa in the 90s. As a Toronto kid, I thought it was so strange and impersonal. I knew my mail delivery person by name growing up and loved it. I don’t want to even metaphorically live in suburban Ottawa…
Canada Post is ending home delivery across the GTA. Here is when the change will take effect in your neighbourhood cp24.com/local/toronto/2026/…
I played in a charity tourney with Ron a few years ago. At a pre-tourney Q&A, an intoxicated participant asked Ron who the most famous woman he’d ever been with was. He replied, “Well…your mom, last night.” The entire room erupted with laughter.
The New York Rangers organization mourns the loss of Ron Duguay, one of the most popular players in franchise history. Ron's signature skating style - with his hair flowing as he moved down the ice - captivated The Garden Faithful, and his skill, tenacity, and charisma earned him the admiration of all New Yorkers. We join the hockey community in sending our condolences to Ron's friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time.

montreal is what happens when north america forgets to finish americanizing a city. terraces everywhere, wine at the corner store, a subway on rubber tires, and people drinking outside at 3pm on a tuesday without anyone calling it a crisis
People in the comments keep pointing to the affordability crisis. While that is partially true, a lot of it also comes from millennials realizing how many sacrifices you truly make when you become a parent (a lot of which end up being on the mom in the worst instances).

I think the reason that 9/11 is hitting harder this year for millennials is because we realize the ages they were are the ages we are now
More than 300 dogs helped search for survivors on 9/11. In fact, the last person rescued at ground zero was found by a search and rescue dog.
The search was mentally and physically taxing on the dogs, who walked across huge piles of debris and smoldering rubble. As the days went by, dogs became sad when they were no longer finding people alive. So, to keep their spirits up, their handlers staged mock rescues. They would have people hide under debris for dogs to find. This boosted the dogs’ morale as they continued their work.
In addition to rescue dogs, therapy dogs were brought to the scene to provide comfort to emotionally drained and traumatized police officers and firefighters.
Dogs are the best thing in the world and we do not deserve them.
