Every time you wanted your man to appreciate everything you are doing for your relationship or family while convincing yourself that everything he was doing was simply what he owed you You want gratitude for fulfilling your responsibilities while withholding gratitude from him for fulfilling his!! And the hypocrisy of that is something you have to confront. We talk so much about the mental load women carry, the sacrifices they make, and how often your contributions go unnoticed... But somewhere along the way, they have started calling everything a good man or husband does the bare minimum while calling everything a good woman or wife does a sacrifice. You are measuring your sacrifices by what they cost you and his sacrifices by what he owed you!!! And that mindset is making it nearly impossible for you to appreciate him the way he will want to be appreciated. You can have high expectations of your man or husband and still be grateful when he meets them. You are not wrong for wanting appreciation but you are wrong for withholding the same very appreciation you are demanding.
