Hey Twitter, I wanted to tell you... I haven't been here a lot lately, but it's not because I don't miss you all. Two years ago I was diagnosed with cancer, since then most of my focus and energy has been dedicated to that issue.

Does anyone ever change their mind based on "the lessons" of a crisis? Isn't it more like everyone sees in them what they already saw. Like History, the outcomes so complex, you learn what you knew already.

Healthcare people are amazing and always looking for what's best for you. But when I go back home from hospital, I'm having a ice-cream dinner. That's the rule.

What's better? 1. Vent on Twitter so you can stay calm IRL 2. Vent IRL so you can keep it clean on Twitter. It's been a long time since I really lost my calm and I forgot how hard it can be to cool off.

I just cannot understand how someone under 30 doesn't text you to check before showing up at your door. Is it a thing?
Break of discipline leading to breaches in the isolation process.

I've muted everyone going "why don't they just..." to solve Covid-19 treatment and vaccine, and now my TL is empty 😂

After almost two weeks in the hospital it's so nice to be out on a beautiful day. Everyone is talking about "it" and I forget to refrain to cough behind my mask.

Our world has vocabulary fetishism, if we use the words of the expert, it implies we have their field knowledge. We say epicenter instead of center. We talk about endorphins when we have fun.
Being stuck home with lots of time is never how you expect it to be.

So I got tested as part of a group and it appears I'm negative for Covid-19 for now.

I could also make a cut of all space scenes in 2001 and put it to a Max Richter + Hans Zimmer soundtrack.

Je suis toujours en retard sur le cinéma, mais Ad Patres, in nomine patri, enfin Ad Astra on en pense quoi ? Moi 2-3 images de l'espace avec de la musique et je suis content alors... Et ben ça m'a quand même déçu.

If your job is not litteraly about information dissemination, chances are the best thing you can say about the pandemic that is outside of personal experience is: nothing.

We admire your intelligence, your pet theory on virus mutation, your smart reverse deduction of contamination rates, your candid rediscovery of basic stats, your beautiful diagrams. If you have something valid, submit a paper. But please don't tweet.

I understand the urge, I have an opinion too I want to proclaim. But I'm no epidemiologist, seeing things similar to what you see in your job is not enough. Now I have to mute people I like, friends even, tech people mostly, because they can't shut up.

That said, is the US political system supposed to be so complicated? To stop something you have to push a button in the white house, then the house has to vote for the button to stay pressed, then governors push a button to acknowledge button press valid for their state then...

Someone in the US invented "the Chaos Monkey" to test complex computer systems by breaking parts at random, and it worked well. Long story short, they elected it for president.

Avec la maladie je suis à nouveau confronté à une profession que j'ai connue enfant à cause "des plafonds sociaux", les assistantes sociales, qui ne sauront jamais comment et à quel point elles sont détestées par les personnes qu'elles sont censées aider.

I'm back in the hospital for monitoring issues with my issues. It's a cancer treatment center, but everyone is in full corovid-19 gear. No visits, minimal movement for healthworkers.
1
It's quite impressive actually, in a good way. Part of the center has been freed for corovid-19 patients, but it's empty for now. Yesterday they tested everyone in the building, patients and workers. Results in next 24h.

I guess it shows testing capacity for corovid-19 is actually growing in France and they can afford to do more monitoring? Btw the test, well the coton scrubbing in your throat, is not painful or anything, just uncomfortable.
