Not a bad view to wrap up #ACSSpring2025 in lovely San Diego. I talked about some new results on probing interfacial energy transport with atomic resolution. Thanks for the invitation, @sascha_feldmann @NienhausLab @CongreveLab!
We are delighted to be part of a new Microelectronics Science Research Center project led by @PPPLab and funded @ENERGY. Over the next 4 years, my group will explore the extremes limits of phonon & heat transport in diamond using tools that we are building in my lab @PrincetonMSE
With funding from @ENERGY, @PPPLab researchers will lead two collaborative projects that "will provide a better understanding of how to craft the materials needed for next-generation semiconductors at the atomic scale." bit.ly/3BHemBs
Pleasure hosting Prof. Brad Siwick @mcgillu for the @PrincetonMSE seminar today! He gave a beautiful talk on visualizing atomic motions using ultrafast electron diffraction. Here - at dinner with Prof. Alice Kunin from @PrincetonChem, learning from Brad about brewing 🍺
Great hosting @deep29jariwala at @PrincetonMSE today. Deep gave an inspiring talk on materials for next-gen computing.
Thank you to @deep29jariwala of @PennEngineers for kicking off our fall seminar series today! @pccm_mrsec
Celebrating an eventful & productive summer with my group! Touhid passed his PhD quals with flying colors, we (finally!) moved into our renovated lab, welcomed postdoc Mithun, hosted undergrads Aditi, Sawooly & Nathaniel, and graduated Physics senior Henry. So proud of them all.

Great hosting @Sam_Graham_UMD for the MAE department seminar today! He gave a beautiful talk on fundamental materials issues and thermal challenges in wide bandgap electronics. @EPrinceton @ClarkSchool
📢Our new paper in @NatRevMater discusses the effects of interlayer hybridization on electronic and thermal properties of 2D materials. Great collab w/ Archana Raja & Felipe Jornada groups, led by the fantastic trio- @ElyseBarre,@medha_dandu & Sudipta Kundu. @PrincetonMSE
Interlayer hybridization in van der Waals materials is key. Read this Perspective by Archana Raja & colleagues on the various parameters influencing interlayer hybridization, providing a comprehensive guide for designing materials with desired properties: go.nature.com/3JdpshG
It was wonderful hosting @BethDickey6 @cmu_mse for the materials seminar today. We were treated to stunning visuals of atoms moving inside #ferroelectric #materials!
Elizabeth Dickey from @CarnegieMellon now speaking at our weekly PMI/@pccm_mrsec seminar
If you're at #APSMarchMeeting next week, check out this cool symposium on transport that I'm organizing with Mandar Deshmukh @TIFRScience. Electrons, phonons, excitons, polaritons -- we'll have it all! + I'll be there and look forward to catching up. @APSphysics @APSMeetings
My group is excited and grateful to be awarded its first grant from the ACS PRF Doctoral New Investigator program! This will fully support a student for 2 years to look at energy-transport dynamics at solid-liquid interfaces - a new direction for us @PrincetonMSE @EPrinceton
It was lots of fun teaching my first course last term on phase transformations, and it's an honor to receive this commendation. Thanks for the shoutout @PrincetonMSE!
Congratulations to PMI faculty Aditya Sood (MSE 502) and Nan Yao (MSE 505) on their Commendations for Outstanding Teaching during the spring 2023 semester, as determined by overall course ratings by students!
