This year Wales has led the way in research, from @advancedNTC being the only UK site in a gene therapy trial for Huntington’s to the licencing of a first-in-class drug on the back of a Welsh-led trial for terminal breast cancer.

Patients receiving the treatment experienced 75% less progression of the disease overall, compared to a matched cohort of people with Huntington’s who were not receiving the treatment.
