🏥Announcing six new research projects aiming to improve end of life experiences in, and on discharge from, hospital.
Hospitals are extraordinary centres of clinical expertise. But they were never designed to provide the calm, highly personal support that people deserve at the end of life.
The new projects, some of which are funded in partnership with @LDShospcharity and @RBHCharity, aim to address a range of issues.
These include improving discharge processes and communication from hospital to community, identifying the need for and providing condition-specific palliative care in a timely manner, and exploring the impact of palliative care In-Reach services in emergency departments.

We have raised concerns about existing deficiencies in the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill.
We believe the bill in its current form lacks adequate protections for patients and professionals.
