In my Texas public school education, there was such an emphasis on the American Revolution, American Expansion, American Victory in World War 2, but we didn’t give proper examination and digestion of the failures and abuse of America. That includes the events of today.
Republican politicians in Texas are trying to prevent public schools from discussing racism in U.S. history — whitewashing the role of slavery & anti-Hispanic discrimination.

We need to examine how white patriarchal supremacy has enslaved, lynched, assaulted, harassed and bullied people of color for centuries to today. Instead, Texas is banning this topic from its classrooms.
