To celebrate, each year we offer Virtual Field Trip experiences to Ontario food production sites and classroom resources for educators to enhance their students' understanding of Ontario's agriculture system.
Some of our past OAW initiatives include:
💻 Agri-Trekking Across Ontario, an interactive, gamified resource exploring local food.
🔎 Scavenger Hunt with @4HOntario where students searched for agriculture in their daily lives.
📖 Devlin Saves a Lamb read-a-long, exploring sheep farming in Ontario.
This year, we are excited to launch a NEW bilingual resource for grades 3–8 students, as well as offer two exciting Virtual Field Trips to a soybean farm and an egg farm.

AgScape staff members were out #CultivatingConversations at Shylane Farms, a modern dairy and beef operation outside Stratford, Ontario. 🐄
From sparking these conversations, our team was able to better understand the business and logistics side to modern agriculture and food operations – from the investment in infrastructure to the technology needed to run the entire operation. We also got to hear firsthand about some of the major challenges farmers are currently facing, such as the lack of large animal veterinarians and the many effects this can have.
💭 What’s something you recently learned about Ontario agriculture from cultivating a conversation at a local farm, market, fair event, or somewhere else? Let us know! 👇
