Lots of new faces here!
Iām Emma, a 24 yr old crop scout/farm hand/ content creator who loves sharing agriculture on the internet. I share a lot of educational content, drone videos, and real life in the ag industry as someone who has held many different jobs and shares it all with you. Iām not a āfarmerā but I love working hard and learning new things every day.
Iāve been posting about ag on the internet for 4 years now and Iām very grateful for the support! You can also find me on all other platforms under āAg with Emmaā
Thanks for being here!
September is suicide prevention awareness month. I have nothing new to say about how much suicide sucks except to remind you that life is better when youāre living it and suicide can kiss my ass.
Sam was my best friend. He was funny, kind, always helping someone, smart, and determined. Everyone says time makes things ābetterā but time just brings new phases in life that you wish they were still around for, wondering what things would be like if they were still around. He will never get to hold my babies or be the fun uncle down here on Earth, but I know heās taking care of it upstairs with big man.
It SUCKS to lose anyone at any age, but I feel robbed when it comes to the time I should have had down here with Sam.
Canola is being harvested right now in North Dakota! @NorthernCanola @uscanola
There are so many parts and pieces to harvest!
After the grain is cut, it keeps moving until it gets into a temporary storage spot to be sold. From the combine to that storage, there is combines, grain carts, trucks, augers, service trucks, water trucks, pickups, trailers, etc all involved in getting it moved!
On this operation, there is about 20 people behind the scenes making this happen. Combine and tractor operators, truck drivers, auger and bagger managers, vehicle movers, people servicing equipment and more.
It takes a lot to move it off the field!! #agwithemma #northdakota #harvest2026

Why are there 7 combines running on this farm??
Hereās a breakdown! It may not make sense to some, but itās a fun time of year for the farm and team work makes the dream workš«” #agwithemma #northdakota #harvest2026
harvest isnāt always as simple as starting and going nonstop!
Weather, moisture, wheat variety, soil type, and more all play a role in when the wheat is ready, and these guys have found everything thatās been 12% or less so far! (sometimes you can take a few loads that are in the 14-15% but you donāt want a bunch of it)
they will be rolling again next week if all goes smoothly!

Sometimes I think itās pretty nice here. Then my friends from northern MN complain about -35 winter weather and I remember we have that too.
Then my friends in Wyoming complain about wind storms of 80mph and I remember we have that too.
Then my friends in the south complain about temps over 100 and I remember we have that too.
You couldnāt raise a kid into a softy here if you tried.
5 years ago I would have never guessed that I would be scouting fields in North Dakota. One of the COOLEST parts about agriculture is that everyoneās journey to it and through it looks different.
If you are trying to get started working in agriculture, check out Dig In Do Good . They have a ton of resources to help you find potential career options, information about agriculture, and more!
I hope that in sharing my journey and resources with you, your unique story is able to keep unfolding and you find yourself in great places you would have never guessed to be :)

First time to ever shut equipment down because of dust before but 0 visibility to move equipment down the road. Both pictures are the same road 1/4 mile apart. And this is notill country
This farm plants over 1,000 acres per day during seeding, why isnāt it over 2,000 with their set up?
