At halftime today his team had not scored a single point.
Cincinnati had 59 yards of offense. Baltimore had 258 and had run 20 more plays. Joe Burrow had just thrown for the fewest first half yards of his entire career.
So he stood up in that locker room and went off on everybody.
His name is Ja'Marr Chase.
Here is what he said about why.
"I was pretty angry coming into halftime. I didn't like how we played."
He told the offense to stop waiting on the defense to save them, and that somebody in that room had to go and make a play.
Understand what they were sitting on. Cincinnati had lost three straight games in their own division, and six of their last eight to Baltimore.
Then they scored five unanswered touchdowns and won by 22.
Teams that lead by 13 or more at halftime and lose by 20 or more have now done it three times in the entire history of the National Football League.
Here is Burrow on the speech.
"Ja'Marr went in there and got after everybody a little bit, got everyone fired up."
And here is the line that tells you who he is.
"I've done it before, and I cried last time, but I didn't cry this time."
Now understand that this is not new behavior for him, and go back to LSU in 2019 for the proof.
Against Vanderbilt he caught four touchdowns, and then he took himself out of the game so that Racey McMath could get one too.
That is a 19 year old removing himself from a game he was destroying, on purpose, for a teammate.
He grew up in Harvey, Louisiana, went to Archbishop Rummel outside New Orleans, and his parents Jimmy and Toleah went to everything.
Here is what his father says.
"Ja'Marr set that as one of his goals. That's the most fulfilling part."
He won a national championship with Burrow, took the Biletnikoff as the best receiver in college football, then sat out 2020 entirely.
Cincinnati drafted him fifth overall and a lot of people said they should have taken Penei Sewell instead. In his first NFL preseason he was thrown five passes, caught one, and dropped four.
In 2024 he led the whole league in catches, yards and touchdowns in the same season. Five men have done that since the merger. Jerry Rice, Sterling Sharpe, Steve Smith, Cooper Kupp and him, and he was the youngest of them.
Be straight about this afternoon though. Lamar Jackson did not play. Chase himself had 62 yards. Tee Higgins had 148 and was the one actually doing the damage. And Cincinnati has been to three Super Bowls and lost all three.
But the man who gave that speech is the same one who walked off the field at 19 so somebody else could score.

“We gotta step this shit up.” Ja’Marr Chase kicked the team in ass at halftime “I was pretty angry coming into halftime. I didn't like how we played. You know what I'm saying? We had 15 plays, maybe two or three possessions, and it didn't go our way at all. We had opportunities to get the ball out our hands. Joe was getting too much pressure, and I came in here screaming, saying ‘we got to somebody got to make a play for us, and somebody got to make a play.’ And I told our offense, we can't look at our defense the whole time. We gotta step this shit up and make something work. I've done it before, and I cried last time, but I didn't cry this time.”
Stop calling women CIS. We are not CIS! We are women. The standard. We don’t need any other identifier. A trans person has an identifier. They are trans. Not a different type of women. A man. That lives appearing as a woman.
Hunter Schafer reveals some cis women she hooked up with expected her to “perform like a man” because she’s transgender and has a pnnis.
“I’ve had hookups with cis women who wanted me to fcck them like a guy, and it’s because I have a dck.”
“But then you find cis people who understand and just get it. That’s what was so amazing about my ex-boyfriend. From the get go, it was never a f*cking problem.”
“He saw me exactly for who I was, which is amazing.”
