Hey @grok, is it true that Queen Elizabeth’s royal jewels were stolen from other countries???
😬
🚨 SUMMARY: The OBR forecasts following John Healey's Budget
- Welfare spending will rise to £431.3bn by 2030/31 - an increase of £97.5bn a year in cash terms
- This includes £209.8bn on pensioner benefits, £110.7bn on Universal Credit, £69.6bn on disability benefits, £13.9bn on Child Benefit and £27.2bn on other welfare
- Inflation will peak at 3.75% in early 2027, up from the earlier prediction of 2%
- UK GDP growth will slow from around 1.25% in 2026 to 1% in 2027, before climbing to 1.6% in 2031
- Average UK unemployment will rise to 5.1% across 2026 and 2027
- The Employment Rights Act will "likely" have a negative economic impact because of reduced flexibility and greater uncertainty for businesses
- The landlord tax increases (property income) could contribute to a long-term rise in private rents and discourage landlords from entering the market
- Real household disposable income per person will be around 0.75% lower in 2030-31 than it expected in March 2026
- Higher earnings and frozen tax thresholds will increase income tax and National Insurance receipts by £9bn in 2026-27 and around £8bn on average in subsequent forecast years compared with March
- Net migration is forecast to fall to 120,000 in the year to mid-2026, then gradually rise to 230,000 by the year to mid-2031
- Nominal weekly earnings growth will slow to around 3.5% in 2026, then average roughly 2.25% a year
- Andy Burnham's first-time buyer scheme could raise house prices by increasing demand without enough new homes being built
10 billion .... fuck me 😑

Didnt happen.
Today's Aldi excursion.
As I leant over to grab my usual 3 bottles of flavoured sparkling water (49p each), a man was next to me loading his trolley with as much bottled water as it would hold.
"Sorry about this', he said. "I really don't want to do this but they're panicking me into it".
"Well don't do it then" I replied. But he did.
The cashier said, when I asked her, loads of people are doing it and she said "Who can blame them when we don't know what's coming - war or AI".
Nice to see the Government Nudge Unit doing its work and the sheep are falling for it. Like COVID all over again.
Will they never learn - these silly sheep? 🙄

Tesco supermarket this afternoon. Got chatting to lovely cashier, im guessing in her 60s. Swiftly conversation moved to politics, the total incompetents running this destroyed bum hole of a country. Cupping her hand over her mouth and leaning towards me she said, " there is only one man capable of fixing this, Rupert Lowe." I fully concurred

Imagine living like this 😂😂
As I've mentioned before, these frozen whiting fillets from Aldi are a bargain at £4.29. You get about 6 in a bag.
Put in a dish with some king prawns on top (you get between 12 and 16 prawns in this bag), cover with cheese sauce, panko or ordinary breadcrumbs and a bit of grated cheese and bake for 25 minutes.
Feeds 6 people with some mash and veg.
😂😂 freedom of movement is bad, I'll be one of the first to use it.....
These people are dumb af
Well if Andy Burnham agrees free movement within the EU and it works both ways, I'll be the first one out of here on my way to either mainland Spain or Tenerife.
So the UK would lose my income tax, all the VAT and other taxes I pay on fuel and energy, and stamp duty as I'd buy abroad instead of here.
And I don't think I'd be the only one leaving this broken country either.
😂😂😂🤦♂️
I am no conspiracy theorist, but there is no way that Labour are on 30% in the polls and 6% in front of Reform.
It is impossible that there are that many uneducated people out there.
My theory is that Reform voters have been telling pollsters that they would vote Labour.
This would then make it look like Labour had a huge lead.
Burnham would then call an election because he is desperate to have his own mandate and then we could get rid of him.
Does anyone buy my idea?
Sorry, what?
