I guess British Columbians didn’t like the legalisation/ decriminalisation of all drugs after all 👀
The win would be the first Conservative Party majority in British Columbia in 98 years and swing Canada’s third most populous province to the political right bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The political turmoil cannot undo family ties and historic friendship 🇨🇦🇺🇸
A noisy year.
A quiet truth.
Canada and the United States still move forward together.

A 19-year-old Iranian athlete, Arnika Dabbagh, was killed by security forces in the northern city of Gorgan during the nationwide protests, people familiar with the matter told Iran International.
Dabbagh was a student and a competitive swimmer who had won national titles in swimming competitions in Iran, the sources said.

This is what happens when you keep threatening to annex your neighbour. More Canadians now see the US as a threat than China. Trump is single-handedly killing the Western alliance, leaving America exposed when it needs friends.

Lucy is a racist.
No broadcaster should put this racist on TV to spread her despicable hatred.
I’ve been stuck at Crewe so many times, I might as well move here. What area of Crewe would you recommend?!

The British Summer Time Act (BST) was originally a man's idea to boost "productivity" of workers & starting it on Mother's Day is beyond cruel! This man calls to put things right! Tell @10DowningStreet to #ScrapBST - Now there's a Mother's Day present! 💐 #HappyMothersDay

Trump and Vance’s treatment of Zelenskyy was absolutely disgusting and vile.

It’s lucky we have a famously competent state, a well-funded health service, & courts with plenty of time on their hands, or I’d be worrying that this is a terrible decision

Tories have now had the first female leader of the two main parties, the second female leader, the third female leader, the fourth female leader, the first Asian leader and the first Black leader. Labour talk a good game on diversity. But they should be ashamed of that.

IMF upgrades 🇬🇧 growth for this year to 1.1%, from 0.7% previously expected. Next year still 1.5%.
UK outstripping other G7 countries apart from US & Canada.
Most entrepreneurs take massive personal and financial risks and employ people without taking a salary themselves for the first fews years in the hope the risk will pay off in the future. They will simply move to Singapore, the US etc if we remove the incentives and reward.
Is this the biggest political own-goal in history?
I’ve just come off a call with a founder who’ll sell his business for £150 million next year.
He’s now taken the decision to relocate overseas prior to the completion of the sale.
He’s moved from the acceptance of paying 20% capital gains tax on the sale proceeds, through the possibility of paying 39% and has now concluded that he can avoid paying anything at all.
As a result, HMRC will lose a minimum of £30 million (assuming rates remain unchanged) in tax receipts.
And that’s just one transaction.
This is the Laffer Curve playing out in real time.
I’m currently receiving multiple calls and emails from other founders exploring exactly the same idea.
Whatever your political views are, this has been a disastrous PR exercise from the government.
In business and the economy, confidence is everything.
It’s going to take a long time to turn this sentiment around.
Every time I go back to visit family in Vancouver, the negative impact of legalising every type of drug becomes more shocking. It’s no wonder why the BC Conservatives have made such a comeback after 100 years!
Whan an incredibly close BC election wow.
We will know final results on October 28th and there is a chance that there will be another election right away.
The Conservatives have done so well and everyone should be proud of their work. Could they have done and campaigned better? Absolutely but just look at this map.
We just have to many Canadians who just have no ambitions to having a better community, a better country.
NDP got voted in the areas with some of the highest homeless, tent filled areas, crime and drugs everywhere. Pure irrational.
So many humbling experiences as a parent including this evening when my 3yo daughter said: “mummy, I’m the pretty princess and you’re the old princess” 👸 👵💀
Very happy to endorse my friend @TomTugendhat to be the next Leader of the Conservative Party. I saw first hand how people warmed to him on the doors.
People like that he served our country in the military, and I know he will serve our country as Leader of the Opposition.
