लघुता से गुरुता मिले…!
गुरु अपने आप में लघु शब्द है। दो मात्रा (।।) का, हल्का। केवल एक अक्षर ता अथवा त्व जुड़ते ही भारी हो जाता है, दुगुना भारी अर्थात चार मात्रा (।ऽ।) का।
छंदशास्त्र में दो मात्राओं वाले वर्ण को गुरु कहा जाता है किंतु गुरु में कोई गुरु वर्ण ही नहीं है। इस दृष्टि से गुरु अपने आप में दो मात्राओं वाला अर्थात दो लघु वाला लघु शब्द है।
इसी लघुता में गुरु की गुरुता है!
