Attention IO job market candidates:
Sometimes speakers in the CMA's external seminar series have to cancel at short notice. We would love for these slots to go to JMCs to present their job market paper.
Drop me a message if you are interested or share with those who might be.
The CMA has just published its provisional decision in the Vets market investigation, which includes a great piece of econometric analysis. We use a diff-in-diff design to show that corporate acquisitions cause average prices to increase by 9% within 4 years.

Our new @CMAgovUK report looks at the data.

Totally agree. As an early informal recipient of your wisdom, learning how to program opens so many doors - for both researchers and practitioners.
Yes, @ScPoEcon we teach a full course (24 hours) of basic programming skills floswald.github.io/ScPoProgr… Students appreciate (see below). I still hear the odd "isn't that a waste of valuable teaching time" comment every now and then. Couldn't disagree more.

Let me provide a few comments from the other side on this thread. If you start thinking about reproducibility of your work only the day the paper gets accepted, it can get rough. Start on day 1! We provide workshops! Let’s take a closer look: 1/n
