This isn’t a new problem. Collectors have been wrestling with bidding bots for years, and no one has found a satisfactory solution. Most marketplaces default to what they prioritise... liquidity.
@graceb_art's post, @HollanderAdam's response and the replies expose the tension again.
I think part of the answer is a native, opt in way to approach holders directly. Give collectors a better route to conversation and negotiation alongside bidding...

adam,
did you read the sequence?
a collector willing to pay 0.32 eth walks away. the bot returns to 0.21. no sale. how did that benefit the seller and the artist?
a simple improvement: require a meaningful minimum increment between offers. that's it.
you can keep the bots. @opensea

Ecstatic to have acquired 2 of 4 pieces from @Abs0lutelywrong's Still Life collection on @SuperRare -
'The Tragedy of Becoming Someone Else' and 'The Things We Mistake for Happiness'
Both pieces come with a physical component and bidder's editions!

The idea that an artist can use code as a direct craft to make expressionistic art is nothing new in Web3, but the proposition is still radical in the wider art world.
