AI can now generate hundreds of math papers at once. Proofs are becoming abundant. Understanding is not. I wrote about what my math teacher in Romania, my Girls Who Code students and Terence Tao's Math 2.0 talk taught me about how we should do math with AI

Join me this Wednesday in SF for an event celebrating the new book from NPR's Planet Money team. We'll talk about the impact of AI on society, how we think about the future at Anthropic, and maybe read some of my Import AI writing. More info: cityarts.net/event/planet-mo…

Good time to tee up some podcasts on Fed Independence and dive in! Here's a playlist from @planetmoney open.spotify.com/playlist/41…
Hey @thedurstorg , will you sell the Jimmy’s corner building to the bar?
I will contribute to a fund to help.
What’s the asking price? #savejimmys
Please @Spotify, for the love of everything holy, make separate Queues for podcast and music. Nobody ever is saving an episode to fire just after the next song finishes.

We love some @planetmoney in our Personal Finance class at Illinois. Students listen to an episode in our online personal finance course, give feedback and suggest some future topics.
This is a great assignment for students in an intro to financial planning class!
That time of year again. Get your Planet Money University diploma. 8 Qs on 5,000 years of human economic progress. One fake degree.

If @planetmoney doesn’t do an episode on Red Lobster’s bankruptcy due to endless shrimp…. I don’t know.
I’ll still be a Planet Money plus subscriber but it’ll feel like a wasted opportunity for a great episode!

I probably should just let the haters hate and not try to defend NPR journalism. But this is bothering me because in the search for truth, my reporting regularly ends up leading to stories that challenge progressive narratives. I’ve never gotten any editorial pushback for this

Thread: Want to think out loud about what I've seen and experienced since joining NPR a few years ago. I was hired during NPR's "North Star" era when diversity was established as a priority. I'm an aging rural white man (58 years old). Never graduated college. Didn't see NYC...1/

Highly recommend this episode of @npr @planetmoney's @theindicator. I've been keeping up with the @federalreserve's interest rates for months but didn't realize I had no idea how it worked until this #Ratatouille explanation.

⚡️PERSONAL NEWS⚡️
The last week has been crazy.
I'm extremely honored to share my first @washingtonpost A1 with @MariannaReports & @cdechalus
I'm also *VERY* excited to announce I'm the new data reporter @BaltimoreBanner where I'll be reporting on the best state in America!
👏
Thrilled to mark off "But here's the thing" on my @planetmoney bingo card in the new Patent Pirate episode.
In the 1000th show, @GonzalezSarahA mentioned it was a banned phrase and hosts could only use it once in their Planet Money careers. Fun to catch @horowitzghazi use his!
👀
Great work here by the planet money team getting the insurance company to come forward. Nice to also hear from @uri_sohn and Michael Sanders. Beyond the scandal, a good reminder that "priming effects" are small to non-existent.
