DONE IT!!! Reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro is by far and away the hardest thing I’ve ever done - Thank you to everyone for donating to Roundabout to change the lives of vulnerable young people. justgiving.com/page/alfred-j…

To many Democrats, Senator @ossoff looks like a future president. I asked more than two dozen people close to him whether the man on stage matches the man off it. The gap was not authenticity. On camera and off, they described the same person: less politician, more investigator.

This is an absolute outrage. Why is it always science and technology that gets cut first.

Amman - incredible city.
Most people watch the World Cup from a cafe or a couch. Jordan’s fans watch it at 5:00 AM from a 1,900-year-old ancient theatre. 🇯🇴 Football with a view like this hits different. 🏛️🤩

64 teams would make much more sense. Or 48 teams but only top 2 in each group advance (8 best winners get a bye, the other 16 teams have a playoff round like Champions League).
Replying to @NateSilver538
I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that FIFA will eventually expand to 64 teams in 16 groups, which would further reduce high-quality group-stage matches but does make the format a lot more symmetric, with the top 2 from each group strictly advancing.

With less than a month until the World Cup kicks off, hotels remain under-booked, tickets unsold, and travelers unconvinced. The world's most-watched sporting event is at risk of being a colossal dud. newsweek.com/2026-world-cup-…

It took over 100 years, and many predicted it was impossible, but today Sabastian Sawe broke the two-hour barrier for running a marathon. Since 2002, all of the record-holders have been from high-altitude regions of Kenya/Ethiopia.
