i use claude code for design process for over than a year now
at the beginning I felt like a CHEATER π
but hey, at the end of the day - itβs make me more productive. so nothing to be ashamed of.
itβs different if you use claude to do something for you and send it without even checking
or you just align your process to fit new reality
Replying to @aliszu
yes i have been doing this and honestly was scared to tell the process at first but im glad there are others that do the same
my design flow right now:
1. inspo
2. claude code to explore and prototype
3. clicking through whole flow, trying to break it
4. polish UI in figma
more and more happens outside figma
but i'm not leaving it
it's the best place to document the process
especially on big products. decisions, variants, why things look the way they do (and keeping everything aligned with prod)
and some days i start in Figma on purpose
(even tho the process is longer, it's worth it)
to get as many ideas out of my own head as possible
ai is great at recreating what exists
a blank canvas is still where new stuff happens
i always wanted to be like marc
btw. i made an ad
test it and roast me: testflight.apple.com/join/fEβ¦
i want to make it EHT TSEB
my coloring app is 753 mb π€―
the easy fix (from 2 weeks ago): add a download screen and folder
"downloading collection⦠34%"
butβ¦
i'm not doing that
hereβs the new flow I figured out:
the illustrations will load quietly in the background. the next scene is already there before you tap it.
no progress bars.
no mb counters.
no waiting.
the best loading screen is the one nobody sees
fixing it now. target: under 200 mb

iphone duo is the hardest thing i've designed for in years
been playing with the simulator for a few days and making it look and feel right is extremely hard and time consuming
sometimes you just have to figure out how to set everything up from scratch. it's a fully new experience
so far my best idea for how to think about it:
β treat it as nesting content
β use the space to the max
β but don't let it get cluttered or overwhelming
it's not easy. it's extremely hard
and i don't think companies will spend the weeks it actually takes to adjust their apps
which is sad for a $2000 phone
also, giving engineers and designers three weeks to adapt for the duo?
definitely not enough time
this is my happy moment
4 years ago i hated working on mobile apps
i was fully into web poducts
working on abode was my breaking point
i went fully into creative mode
and did the best work of my life
right when i thought my world was falling apart
i found my new comfort place
it led me to amazing projects, clients and the work i'm doing now
working on an app that really helps people getting better
and making fun stuff on the side that I started to share here

big thanks to @proskuaaa
his work was the first mobile design i really loved
and the fun he puts into it stuck with me
