I hate philosophy Halloween, what do you mean you’re going as Johann Christian von Mannlich’s portrait of Jacobi, often mistaken for Immanuel Kant?

I’d highly recommend Benedict Anderson’s A Life Beyond Boundaries, especially to anyone familiar with his Imagined Communities. He talks about a frog that lives under half a coconut shell and believes that it contains the whole universe. I think it was kind of funny how some++

Just remembered that, after his death, it was discovered that Nabokov had graded a bunch of short stories from a New Yorker anthology, giving almost all of them low grades except for two A+s: his own story and Salinger’s A Perfect Day for Bananafish.
