Electrum's developers say some malicious servers are using a flaw in older versions. The server hides the payment you just sent and shows a fake one going to an address that ends in the same last 4 characters as the real one.
If you then bump the fee, your wallet signs the fake and your bitcoin goes to the thief. At least one user already lost money.

"Next big coin drops in 15 minutes..." Then the name appears, thousands rush to buy, the price shoots up, and minutes later it crashes.
The organizers bought a cheap, low-volume coin early, hyped it in chat groups, then sold into the rush. The CFTC described one that was over in less than 8 minutes.
