OASIS are the most important band on the PLANET since the last time we were the most important band on the PLANET
More amazing archive content from @Jack_Risley of Charli xcx. Chaz from @thecoolness was ahead of the game. Glory days of East London with Chew Lips and Is Tropical, and Dalston before bardens boudoir closed.
Thread part 2 🧵 Every era starts somewhere. For Charli XCX, it was East London warehouse raves. I spoke with Chaz from @thecoolness and he's opened up the archive, with more rare photos & rave flyers
Amazing thread and an insight into how authentic Charli is and the scene that she came from x

One of my all time favourite songs
30 years ago, One To Another entered the top 3 on the Official UK charts. Here we are performing the track on TFI Friday, September 1996. #OTA30

being married is funny because you'll be chilling, having a bowl of cereal, and your wife will say
i hate these bowls, don't you?
and you'll shrug becuase you don't care and she'll say
i do, they've bothered me for a while now. we need new bowls.
and you'll shrug again because you have honestly, not once, ever considered the bowls at all
then a few days later there will be all new bowls in the kitchen.
and you'll be eating the same cereal in a different bowl, chilling, and she'll say
i love these new bowls
and you'll shrug again because you still don't care but she's happier and the cereal is still good and you didn't do anything at all
Recognise that stage door @TheClaphamGrand 👀

If you add the numbers shown, plus the four and twenty million from The Masterplan, and multiply that by the one, two, three and four from Fade In-Out, you get your place in the Manchester Ticketmaster Oasis queue.
Absolute banger
1995. St Etienne “He’s on the Phone" is pure French pop chic meets grim British reality. Sarah Cracknell’s melancholic whisper set against a euro-house dance beat. The ultimate soundtrack for walking home from the club at dawn in heels, singing the hook into your greasy chip wrapper. Bliss. @120Revisited @Britpopmemories @ShiiineOn_ @OMGIluvthatsong @XMartinsMusicX
LG voice here. Absurd.
Instead of easing the crowd into the show, Oasis opened their legendary G-Mex performance with the enormous title track from their newest album. “Be Here Now” was built around pounding piano, layers of guitars and a relentless chorus that reflected the deliberately excessive sound of the 1997 album Be Here Now. The track was never released as a UK single, despite giving the record its title. On 14 December 1997, Oasis used it to launch their Manchester G-Mex set before immediately tearing into “Stay Young”. The homecoming show was broadcast on MTV and remains one of the most celebrated performances of the Be Here Now era.
