Our preprint "Spatiotemporal modeling of European paleoclimate using doubly sparse Gaussian processes" is on @arxiv! This is one of the outcomes of a cooperation we (@sethaxen @alpiges @alvorithm) are currently running with @sommer_geo and Nils Weitzel! arxiv.org/abs/2211.08160
Overview of data and consensus model presented in the paper. Multiple spatiotemporally gridded simulations are combined with reconstructions from fossilized pollen proxies to construct a consensus model. While the data are discrete in space and time, the consensus model is continuous in both space and time, and at any spatiotemporal point, the marginal posterior distribution of temperature can be queried.
